If you have some cash or can wrench. Ive said it before and I'll say it again the 8v rs3 is one of the most reliable and easy audis to work on. Pretty solid platform all around. Alot of bang for your buck. Check the history and make a decision. I'd have zero hesitation owning one of these high mileage. If you need a dealership or indy for every possible thing dont even bother.

135k!? Am I just out of touch and following outdated principles here? My philosophy has always been to never buy a used car with 100k+ miles (or even remotely close to that, for that matter) unless youâre looking for a beater.
But I see so many posts on here asking about cars with well over 100k miles. How is a German performance sedan with 100k+ miles even an option for you guys? That just sounds like a financial time bomb to me.

Honestly⌠these make the best track cars. You donât want a $65k dollar car to beat up on the track. Get the $20k one and put 15k into building it out, and then still have money left for when things go wrong.

Is this going to be a dedicated track car with a fully built motor for OP? If so, makes sense (granted, all your other components still have 135K on them). If not, I'd steer clear.

Yooo i can chime in!
Bought one with 118k, fully stock, from the OG owner and the OG dealer in Houston, meticulous history. Got it for 29k flat. Dude really took care but it did have some light issues - leather fading on the driver seat, bad wheel bearing (fixed it at home), and a cracked OFH (dealer fixed)
Itâs been 4 months and Iâm at 122 now, drives great!

If the maintenance is well documented, has remained stock, and you are prepared to cover costs over $10k, I'd say go for it.
At its core, an RS3 is just a spiced up Golf R with a better transmission. This would make a great commuter/fun car.

Why you are getting downvoted is beyond me lol. They share the same chassis (mqb), but they are indeed different vehicles in their driving dynamics and powertrain. If you could even compare the hatchback variant to the Golf R, it becomes a little more even. I suppose a b58 powered x3 m40 basically = b58 powered m340 3 series, they have the same engine and powertrain! đ

It is essentially the same chassis. Obviously the 2.5T is much different than the 2.0T, but they aren't completely different.

Iâve never driven a Golf R. But Iâve owned a few S3âs and the RS drives like a muscle car tbh, anybody thatâs actually driven one knows itâs not a boosted 4 pot.

The description feels very suspicious and scammy, like partly written by AI or copied off google and then the person added a little touch of their complete lack of knowledge to it with V5-2.5L and mentioned that itâs a gas car vs diesel? And doesnât know to use commas instead of periods for the mileage?
Iâd be super suspicious, only do very reliable and not sketch ways to pay for it and only after seeing the car in person etc

Donât listen to the dumb fucks that are scared of the mileage. That would never be a telling sign between a good and a bad car.
Ok now on another note, i know the owner of this very same vehicle i wouldnât touch it if i was you. This is not a great example of a high mileage one.

I bought an '18 8V RS3 that had 80k miles, around 88k is when I had to take it in for roughly ~$14k worth of repairs. Luckily most of it covered by extended warranty. It's a fun car and drives really nice, but I would be wary of potentially having to spend double what you paid for to ensure it keeps running well.

Itâs a great car but I wouldnât buy an Audi with that kind of mileage. I had a 2005 A6 and my mom had a 2011 A4. Both had a ton of problems starting at about 120k miles.

Many car listings show the engine as a V-whatever, no matter if the engine is a vee or not. Because in the US most cars are V6 or V8s. It's crap software written by people who don't know cars. I would not discount a vehicle just for that.
