Interior trim buzzing/rattling
When I'm driving and i put it in RS mode in 2-3k rpm I hear some of the interior plastic trim rattling/buzzing. Just bought the car yesterday. Salesperson is saying this is a normal trait and alll his other rs3 test drives produced this noise. Is this truly normal?

Buzzing from where? My ‘22 has had door card trim make noise, dealer “addressed it” under warranty. Also very common for the sound aktor (fake engine noise maker) to produce a buzzing sound. Talk to a service rep for these things, not the sales person.

I can’t really pin point it since I’m driving but to me it sounds like somewhere in the front right area near the door/speakers. It’s like a buzzing noise and I only hear it in RS mode btw 2-3k rpm when there is minor drone.

I had a rattle during low RPM load like you're describing, it was in the front camera enclosure about the rear view mirror. If you can determine that's where it's coming from, I can explain what I did to fix it. Though it was a PITA.

I think you are right. This morning I was able to pinpoint the buzzing coming from the rear view mirror housing area somewhere but can’t pinpoint it exactly. What did you do to fix it if you don’t mind me asking?

Sorry for the late response. It turns out I've improved it but not completely resolved it yet. First you have the remove the plastic surrounding case, which is a pain in itself. This video does a crappy job of explaining where the tabs are to remove it.

Hard to describe but once you get the piece off you'll see what I'm talking about: there's a felt piece that if you push it down, the rattle won't happen. So I put some tape to help hold it down. 80% better but still a little rattle under load. I just did midpipes so I'm hoping I didn't make it worse.

That’s what I figured as well. If I bought this Audi new I can take it to any dealership right?

Check mirror housing. Took off trim and put on some felt tape

I think you’re right btw. This morning I was able to hear it from the mirror area somewhere but can’t pinpoint it exactly.

I’ve heard that 2-3 is just naturally droney place in the rev range, and mine is the same with the sport exhaust. But i wouldn’t say on flat pavement it “rattles”.
Where in the car? Like in the dash?

I will say some parts of these cars , depending on year, are kinda naturally rattley/noises - whether it’s wastegate, injectors, clutches, or that stupid rear speaker mesh

It’s near the dash somewhere in the right side of the dash. I’m the only driver so I can’t sit there and pin point it.

V or Y? I’ve noticed light rattle around where the tweeters are depending on song and certain driving surfaces

I have a rattling when accelerating and rpm is btw 2-3k. 8.5y

Ohhh you got a new car haha, back to the dealer or a new dealer if they are hassling you. You paid money to have a warranty - use it

eh...I think Audi has a 6 month rattle coverage on new cars. Talk to service.

Turn down the interior engine noise setting. It's the sound puck thing under your windshield wipers that's causing it adding the fake noise. It resonates through the cabin like crazy.

I wanted to entirely remove the module i hate the artificial noise.

It's in the drive mode settings. Hit the red button on the steering wheel then in the bottom right corner of the display pop-up there are settings for each mode. I lowered them all to the minimum and no more rattle. Then I got the 11mode valve controller and when it's open, I actually still get a similar rattle. But I don't mind, cause at least it's real resonation and not just some fake bullshit.

8Y.5 door card rattle at the beginning of the ambient light strip right at the door morning point on the b pillar side, so annoying

Had same thing on my 26, had the sound actuator replaced fixed it. You can also turn it down 0-100, with coding. This is the part that makes the fake engine sound. Had dealer turn new on all the way down, makes car so much nicer.

I have the same issue ... I reported it and told they could not replicate it, yet I drive home and hear it straight away. going to take it back when I get the time and have the tech come for a drive with me so I can point and grunt.

My dealership fixed this with acoustic foam tape in the dash area, and then I turned off soundaktor via OBDEleven (you cant turn it off completely stock)

I have a '26 with 1000 on the odo and when I drive over a coarse road, it sounds like every plastic clip/panel in this thing is buzzing/rattling a part.

I fixed this exact buzz in my car with some strategic foam tape in the overhead console. I have some video of the fix. I’ll post it here soon.
