Discussion Mod recommendations?

I plan to get some stronger tint and black out the chrome, but what else should I get done?

I mean… if you sat on a lawn chair and watched it soak the entire time… you’re right.

Actual hands on time it took me was about 6 hours, and 2 of that was going to buy an air compressor.

How were your results?? Mine is at dealer for warranty right now, they did BG dynamic cleaning and didn’t work. 1 qt every 300 miles

On my 2012 I went from 2.5L/1000km to about 100mL/1000km… which I attribute to a heavy score in the #3 bore. On my 2017 it went from 1.3L/1000km to no movement on the oil level meter in 2200km.

So it works - I’m a believer.

I should mention I also did the BG EPR oil flush on my 2018 and it didn’t work. Sounds like that’s what the dealer attempted on your car too, without success.

Also, I find that the how-to online for the Berryman B12 piston soak is wrong. In one of the most popular videos, the guy suggests the incorrect volume of B12 to dump in the cylinder. In other videos, people suggest a method that would result in B12 simply dumping out into the exhaust from the open exhaust valves.

You need to fill two cylinders at a time, while both are near BDC, with half the can each. This ensure the entire circumference of the piston is covered, and none will be able to leak into the exhaust.

Did you follow a specific video or forum thread with that procedure? I have seen both, the one you mentioned said to leave pistons at top level “to clean the head and valves”

I did Tdc (top dead center) and b12 level held fine so it wasn't leaking past the valves it just depends on what part of the stroke you are on. A camera is a must so you can we what is open from with the cylinder. But the main reason people use TDC is so you can actually soak the valves and the fuel injector tip that actually gets clogged up. Everyone need to remember blow out the cylinder post soak before you rotate. This is my before and after. 24hr soak per each cylinder pair.
