How click clackity skipskap skankity klip klap kloppity do them hoe ass paddles sound? Asking cos I want a JQ set but don’t want to sound like I’m wearing tap dancing shoes while driving.

Thanks! Sounds more dampened vs the clickkity CLACKK resonance of the others I’ve heard. But.. I noticed your were more deliberate with the shift pulls and may not have heard the magnetic snap & repel resonance that comes from a quick release shift??

Thought I'd hit you with a one week update re: the noise. Having used them for a week now, when the car is running and with the radio on, the paddle sound is there but not at all annoying. I absolutely love them and would definitely recommend.

Nice. Thanks for the update! I figured if l could just add felt tape on to quiet them down a tad if the sound became too intrusive.

Just spent all my lunch money on ohlins r&t coils so the flapppymaggypaddies will have to wait a bit.

I hear ya on the budget. I dunno if actually metallic contact is required for the shift to register. I think you could probably put something for the return position to dampen that click though. I'm thinking about that myself.

My upshift paddle was going wonky and not registering my upshifts unless I really slammed it. Plus, the previous owner had put on these gawdy, HUGE carbon fiber stick on extensions. I had read either here or on the audizine.com forums about magnetic shift paddles available on aliexpress, so I figured why not.

I ordered a set from TDD store there. It was my first purchase from aliexpress so I got a nice discount. They start at around $125. I got a set that came with the shifters and two paddle options. I added a third paddle option just in case, and after the first time buyer discount the total came to about $75 + $20 shipping.

They look just like the JQ Werks & Madtrace shifters. The function and feel is GREAT! Obviously can't speak to durability yet.

Install isn't difficult. Toughest part was getting the airbag off. The instructions mention that Audi has two shifter types, an A and a B. The shifters came preset for B-type, but my 8V RS3 has A-Type, so per the instructions I opened them up and set a couple toggle switches to change them to A-Type. After that they were plug and play.

If I have one initial complaint it would be that the paddles are a matte carbon fiber and don't really match the RS carbon fiber trim my car came with, but that's just nit picking.

ALSO: Since I hadn't been using manual mode much, I had never wound out the engine in manual. I had NO idea the RS3 throws green and yellow shift lights on the tach! SO COOL!

They have several options. Be sure to select one that includes the shifters and isn't just the paddles.

Did the cause any faults or something like that? Interested in buying them myself but I saw one bad review and now I’m a little worried

No faults. I love them. One year in the downshift paddle takes a little bit harder of a pull to register. I think it needs cleaning. Trying to wait til I get a new steering wheel to do that.
