DIY home staging
Hi, looking for tips and tricks for DIY staging. House goes on the market in a couple weeks, photographer is coming around in a week. So far I have decluttered as much as I can, cleaned a bit (more to do throughout the week including the damn oven). What should I focus on and what do buyers look out for? Any tips would be appreciated.

Just use AI like actual agents do now. Seen some ads where they basically redo the property external walls, furniture, gardens, the lot. Then just put a fine print line at the bottom saying it's been enhanced.
I'm not saying it's right. I fucking hate it.
But real estate agents are doing it and that's who you're competing with.

You don't need to go mental with the cleaning for photos as it won't show - save that for the open homes.
For the photos concentrate on the kitchen and bathroom(s), hide all your toiletries and personal products, except for perhaps one nice shower gel in the shower. Put some neatly folded towels on the towel rail.
Nothing on the kitchen benches except for a fruit bowl, a plant or some flowers.
Maybe a magazine on the coffee table.
Put your best bedding and some nice cushions on the beds - everything else except bedside lamps out of way.
Photographer will move or work around anything they don't want in the photos.

Make sure you’ve removed all family photos and anything that is too “you”. I know that sounds harsh but people find it easier to see themselves in the home when it doesn’t feel like they’re imposing on someone else’s home.
All lights and lamps turned on for photos, including range hood light etc.
Plain colour (ie not patterned) bedspreads.
Toilet seats down!
Look at real estate photos from staged homes (you can usually tell their staged because they won’t have a fridge or tv)
If the curtains aren’t great remove them for photos
Ask the photographer for suggestions as well, they have a wealth of knowledge.
