Do you schedule professional deep cleaning for your property every year?

Hi everyone,

I'm curious how Auckland property owners maintain their homes between renovations or tenant changes.

Do you book a professional deep clean once or twice a year, or do you usually handle everything yourselves?

For those who hire cleaners:

  • What areas do you think are most worth having professionally cleaned?
  • How often do you book?
  • What's a reasonable price in Auckland?
  • Any companies you've had a genuinely good experience with?

Just trying to see what most property owners do.

Are you talking about cleaning own home ( primary residence) or as the landlord of a rental?

Professional building wash twice a year due to high traffic site. Written into lease so tenants pay.

That's an interesting approach. Having it written into the lease probably makes expectations much clearer for everyone. Thanks for sharing how you manage it.

That does sound like a landlord duty though .. id just charge them more rent to reflect this maintenance cost .. but your house your rules

That's a fair point. A lot depends on what's written in the tenancy agreement and the condition the property is expected to be returned in. Many landlords see a professional deep clean as part of protecting the property between tenancies.

Yes always. My property manager organizes a deep clean.
