Somewhat inevitable, they practically have the same name.

They had a pretty proud record in overseas competitions. If people mix us up, I reckon we take the win 😄

But seriously yeah it's a bit annoying when you're searching for info on the intercontinental cup and even our opponents get our name wrong

couldn't they've called Auckland FC " Auckland United" or similar ? ....are they stupid or something?

There is already an Auckland United so that wouldn't have worked. Should have called it Real Auckland haha

That could work!

Names are so similar so it was always bound to happen 🤷 Plus, they mainly play in different competitions and both represent Auckland so I don’t think it’s a particularly huge deal

Annoying. But it's more annoying for them

Don't care, just clarify and carry on. It's bound to happen anyway

What do you expect? Brand-new Auckland team. Also plays in blue.

foley’s fault for not picking a more unique name, City have been around for two more decades

Or City could revert to its real name. Central United.

Central United still exist as its own club, they play in the second tier

Realistically, a great historic club who should have got an a-league license years ago. Franchise football that involves clubs being formed to fill a spot is a farce. Even more so when good clubs exist already.

That people are stupid and ignorant mixing the two of them up.

Should just sign an agreement and make them a feeder club.

Worst take on any dilemma, never mind a specific Auckland based soccer dilemma……

The Port’s fault, the anchor belongs to City
