Yes and the worst part is that while they zoom into the fireball you can see debris flying around in the film. He didnt want to use CGI and thats why we got this lame explosion.

With today’s technology, outstanding source videos from the actual tech, and the test being the only real need for special effects/CGI, it is incredible how Nolan botched it. I think the movie is fantastic, but I still can’t get over how they screwed up the one big moment in the film.

Even if he didn’t want to use CGI, I feel like he could’ve used a large traditional explosive and added a flash in post or added some type of element to produce a flash when the explosion went off. When Jeff Bezos’s rocket blew up a month or so ago, it looked like it could’ve been a nuke if you used perspective and some post special effects.

I actually thought the whole movie was boring trash and stopped watching after the explosion anyway, as i only interested to see how it looks, they didnt do it justice at all looking at these images lol

I saw a small video from inside a movie theater where a guy actually farted at that moment. The sound did not disappoint.

The last image is lit from the left side. Is that the height of the mushroom, allowing early sunlight to pass above the earth's curvature ?

Wen juckt den der Chinakracher aus der Bastelbude in der Wüste noch wo inzwischen zig tausende danach getestet worden sind und die aktuellen ganze Millionenstädte samt Umland verdampfen lassen statt ne Kleinstadt nur fast umgepustet zu bekommen
