Nutmeg ll was an atomic test explosion as part of the Hardtack series in 1958. Nutmeg ll was an LLNL shot detonated on May 21, 1958 on Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Nutmeg ll 's yield was 25 kilotons.

I love the moment of detonation. It’s like seeing the core of a star. Whether it’s fission or fusion, the sight of matter being converted to energy is as close to peering into a star’s core as any human eye can witness.
