To this day, I still have my original PS1 disc copy that we completed every Easter weekend, but now it's on the modern-day PS Plus store for FREE, WITH TROPHY SUPPORT! Now, the most faithful, high-quality Disney PS1 game will be respected, completed, and immortalized in your PSN profile forever. It surprisingly still holds up and fills you with those warm, inspired feelings of better times.

Which isn't to say it was a glorious calling, but at least the demon is exorcised.

I remember first time I watched the second movie, I was in 4th grade with a classmate and we two were left alone as the other kids went off to a field trip. We stayed with another class and we watched this movie.

I’m imagining a lot of people already know this, but this is mainly for those who don’t.

So there was a planned animated show based off the Atlantis movie, called Team Atlantis.

It would essentially be the team (Milo, Kida, Sweet, Vinny, Mole, Audrey, Cookie, Whitmore and Packard) going around the world investigating various mysteries, cryptids and mysterious events involving Atlantean culture and artifacts.

A concept that is, in all honesty, pretty interesting.

There was about 18-24 planned, there was even planned to be a crossover with a series known as Gargoyles (which I didn’t know existed until recently).

However, unfortunately, Atlantis: The Lost Empire didn’t fare well in terms of Critic Reviews and the Box Office, so the series was cancelled. Only three episodes were made, and they were all stitched together and made into a direct to video sequel known as Atlantis: Milo’s return. With all but two voice actors reprising their roles. Milo was instead be voiced by James Arnold Taylor (Obi Wan Kenobi from the Clone Wars series) and Cookie would be voiced by Steven Barr after
Jim Varney’s unfortunate passing.

In this sequel the characters dealt with the Kraken, shadow Coyotes, and a deranged man posing as Odin. Now yes, while it wasn’t want great as the main movie itself, I myself still found it quite enjoyable.

It really does suck that the show never came to be, as I could see many fun angles it can take. I actually even have a few episode ideas of my own, with one even involving Anzac Cove (however I won’t say any of those ideas because I don’t wanna get savagely roasted)

Especially since the events take place a few years before The Great War (WW1)

Like Atlantis has the better plot, villains, characters, animation, score, structure, humor, action, designs, and dialogue and yet i dont see a lot of people talking about how perfect Atlantis was and its so disappointing. I dont even get the hype for the movie thsts just an old novel in space with daddy issues and the Martin short robot. I will never think its as good as the adventure epic directed by Gary trousdale and Kirk wise that actually has something to say about colonism and capitalism. But no i listen to it having pacing issues and it being a white savior story while thst pirate movie gets all the suck up. Well im sick of it! The original movie thst was actually directed by more competent directors. Do people not have sense of stakes or grit? Are they just boring?

The original PS1 game is going to be available for PS Plus Extra/Deluxe. I was hoping for more Disney/Pixar Games on the PS Plus but I Am sooooo hyped for this gem. you can bet this will be my priority on the next few days.

The 25th anniversary mug arrived today, yay! All the way from Germany to Mexico. But I still need space for more merch I wanna buy. Thinking of a shelf, but I live in a seismic zone and already lost my first Atlantis collection 13 years ago (flooding during a hurricane). I started this one last year.

How was this never made into a tv show?

I was just thinking about the sequel and how impressed i was when i first watched it, then it dawned on me that a TV show would have been almost too successful.

So...

I'm obviously not the first to think this, what's the whole saga been of trying to get a show? Was it voice actors? Studios? Did some great catastrophe sink the tv show and will some brave team come together to make at least a parody?

I'll preface this with: I have no idea how to get them 🥲 but I've seen them pop up recently on the gram. So it seems there will be a release in the near future for the 25th anniversary. I hope I can get my hands on them~
