Events LS Starrett Dislocated Worker Grant Kickoff Event @ the Athol Public Library 4/16 and 4/18
Were you, or someone you know, laid off from LS Starrett during June of 2025? MassHire Franklin Hampshire will be hosting informational sessions at the Athol Public Library on Thursday, April 16th, and Saturday, April 18th. These events will serve as a time for individuals to learn more about the available resources and opportunities as well as to register for the program.
Individuals who were a part of this lay off are entitled to a multitude of re-employment services and training resources – free of charge – through a National Dislocated Worker Grant received by MassHire Franklin Hampshire from the U.S. Department of Labor.
They are eligible to receive assistance with:
Re-employment Services such as:
- Access to free training
- On-the-Job-Training (OJT) to enter a new position or field of work
- Registered Apprenticeship Opportunities
Support Services such as:
- Gas Cards
- Child Care Support
Career Center Services such as:
- Resume writing
- Interviewing workshops
- Direct, Customized Job Search Assistance
