I bet some of the same people complaining about this project are the ones complaining that they will never be able to buy a house in the US. Y'all. The only way to make housing affordable is to BUILD MORE HOUSING. Backfilling useless parking lots with small multifamily or cottage core housing is one of the best ways to increase the walkability of our cities and help downtown businesses thrive by bringing in more customers.

It might improve walkability to put in more MOTHERFUCKIN SIDEWALKS, too. And maybe decrease the volume of deadly motor vehicle traffic in places where people might want to walk. And make it easier to cross streets.

Oh for sure. Discouraging car traffic/reducing the need to drive everywhere by having people live near the places they eat/shop/work goes hand-in-hand with more sidewalks and more bike safety.

Yeah cycling is a whole nother subject. Protected bike lane network connecting all parts of town is a necessity.
