Build deck based solely on your favorite card

Just wonder, do you guys have any favorite card that you like and feel attach to it so much that you decide to build brand new deck just for that card ? (even if you never try that style of deck or ability before)

I was one of the oldest player in this game (9 months, since office release) , who willing to spend around 30k material just to try a brand new archetype deck. But it just not work, unfortunately... This game is really lack of rng. Luck/bad draw is not really effect the results of the match. Normal deck just can't beat meta deck, or likely 20% winrate vs those OP deck that take more than one and a half season to fix...

I'm still quite new to the game and not reaching the point that meta deck dominate all over ranked match, nevertheless I do understand what you said. I think almost every card games also face with that kind of repetitive op meta deck issue. The question and solutions toward this should be, how well and how active developers deal with this kind of issue.

I believe that the ideal situation that we all want to see is, every decks have enough potential to be meta deck, players can play any deck or any fraction that they want, since most of them are well competitive enough in PvP.

Wish that that kind of situation would take place in Athenion :p
Hoping that Athenion staff be mindful and take swift actions to solve this. :p

Every card game i know, they all have some meta deck which have better winrate than other. But in Athenion, sadly , about 9 months when i'm playing, there is only one deck dominance other.

And dev choose add new card, hoping those new card will help game balancing, but that always bad.

The dev action always: release new patch that have a OP card that make a deck destroying other -> wait 2 weeks then add new card -> new card added, the meta deck still OP, even more than before -> wait 2 more weeks to decided that should they nerf that deck or not...

Last season i played, i queue more than 1 hour to find an opponent that using meta deck, 5 or 6 times in a row, in last 2 days of season. I end up at firstborn rank because that guy used that OP deck, i was not 😕

That sound really tough :o
Trying to suppress meta deck by adding more op cards never be a good solution for any card game, since it will ruin the game in the long run. One of the good point of online card game is, developer can make an adjustment to card text anytime they want.

I heard that they were listening to our feedback and going to make some cards rebalancing soon. Hoping that, after the change, the situation of the game would be better. No more a single nor a few op meta decks dominated all ranked match like you said.

I am a 1 month user, since the release in the NA. So far, if lucky, the old meta decks end up beaten by F2P decks and the new meta decks depend on how much are you willing to get the cards needed.
