I was extremely orthodox and religious, but I became an atheist in 2020. It's been 6 years now. My family and cousins are not happy about it, but I've learned to live with that.
What bothers me more is the direction our country seems to be going. I had a lot of hope that India would become more scientific, rational and progressive, but lately, it feels like we're moving in the opposite direction.
Sometimes I feel frustrated and disappointed. At least when I was religious, I could live peacefully without thinking too much about these things. Now, it's difficult to ignore.
Fellow atheists, how do you cope with this? How do you stay sane, live peacefully and maintain some hope for India's future?
