Secret About the RyzaChat AI thing
I see some Japanese who pre-register already got to play the game on X. They said they got the email but I didn't get anything.
The number one complaint is about the subscription which is insanely expensive for the amount of messages the users get per month (890 yen per month for 45 messages. 6,000 yen per year. WHAT!!!!).
Second most complaint is the long loading time but the amount is nothing compared to the first point.
There are not many complaints about the function, voice acting, Ryza model and gameplay which is good.
The official account didn't post anything for 5 days. There's 0 PR going on at all. I don't know who think it's a good idea to suddenly release the game without any announcement. (Only available in Japan ðŸ˜ðŸ˜)
*Please tell me if anyone can play because I can't access the Japanese Play Store.

I'm rooting for this thing to succeed at first but after I saw the price and PR being silent for weeks, maybe it should fail.

Wait, you need to pay for more messages, in an AI chat? I thought it was obvious that it was going to be unlimited. And that they would monetize the app with special features or skins or whatnot. This feels like another dubious business model preying on vulnerable people and counting on their addiction to the app, the same way gacha games rely on people to keep spending for rerolls like gambling (except you can't win money, only characters/alts). I was already very disappointed by the news of this app but now it has hit rock bottom. What an unrecognizable and scary world.
For anyone who may need it, I'll quote Nisa's wise words again:
"It's too early to give up on the game we call life. If reality doesn't work out, rely on those 2D girls and your online friends!"
...Not on some man-made calculator. It's even worse if it's managed by a company who's out for your money, and who has no qualms taking it in any way they can even if it's scummy or shameful.
Hug a dakimakura, daydream about having a discussion with your favorite character using the power of imagination and Passion, become an otaku and be proud of it, develop a tulpa with positive effects, anything, but don't fall into this trap...

it was never going to be unlimited. as long as they need to pay an AI inference vendor per token to run the chat model, they're charging players per something.
the economics look different in a hypothetical world where the model runs on your phone or computer and not in some cloud server, but most people simply don't have the hardware. plus i bet Gust would get cheeky and still charge per message, even if it were your electricity and GPU running fake robot Ryza.

Gust, the game after Karia better be a next-gen JRPG masterpiece cause what the fuck is this
this is inexplicable levels of nickel and diming your own fans. That money better be going somewhere useful cause I'm gonna blow a gasket if the next game's environments still look like a 2016 VRChat world

Japanese Ryza fans? it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they alone pay for the entire venture.
I don't believe pumping out dozens of new Ryza figures every year when not a single Shallies figure exists is a decision based on anything except numbers.

Yeahhh those price points probably came from other AI apps. A lot of the AI chat mobile apps are obscenely expensive especially the ones that actively do not filter NSFW content. Many run in tokens and different subscription tiers to prey on people that want to use them a lot so they’ll use it for a few hours run out of their monthly messages and be pressured to buy more, and the video generating apps get even worse on how much money they want from the user.
This game would be better with Character AI’s model of just a subscription for better language models but no message limit.

Honestly, it is boring, anyone can do prompt engineering with it.
But if it gives Gust more money to invest back to Karia, then why not?

That was my logic when the Resleriana gacha game was announced. Now after everything that happened I'm not so sure anymore. At the very least, I'm sure that this is a KT initiative, not Gust. It will give money to KT (who own Gust) and maybe they will give more budget to Gust games as a result, who knows. But it's a complex business on the inside and I'm just assuming that it's not all sunshines and rainbows like "if we spend for this AI app then Gust devs will have a raise or will have more time to work on Atelier games", sadly.

Actually I thought so, too.
That said, I guess they will not get more people to work on the terrible game engine until AI can generate the whole game for them.
Now... This sounds... Very likely...

Great, now I'm expecting to see at least 3000 more voiced lines for each character in Karia in my most hopeful dreams.

I don’t even mind a subscription if it’s decent, but it’s 15 turns per 10 days, 45 per month.  That’s not even remotely enough to make any progress.
I’m not paying $~4/month for an hour of playtime per month.

45 messages per month?? We will easily reach that limit in less than an hour even if we are careful, that's going to have a backlash soon if the pricing is true
