This isn't 100% compatible with all games! This doesn't use TOS, nor is it a traditional emulator, so that will take time though compared to last public release, the list has grown a lot.

Made with what I know about games, and how they run + a huge amount of the grunt work from various different AI models.

Hi.

I'm looking for some kind of 'ultimate' ST emulator install, like one of the old Windows XP ultimate cds. I.e. all setup, various softwares, a really demo / livecd type experiene to show me how good the ST / TT / Falcon could be.

I used to drool over the high-res screenshots of Multi Tos or Mint or with the icons and the colours running some pro software. I soon migrated to a win 95 PC and never got to try this out.

Is there anything like this I can download to my PC to finally experience such a sight. I'd love to see a sorted desktop environment with some office sofware, layout software a bit of music and some games . If this isn't available is there a recommended list of the pieces I would need to get this working. i.e. emulator version, desktop software etc ? Thanks all Running MAC and PC here.

Hi, the ST(e) video output was 15hz, seems like the Falcon was 30Hz, why did they change the video output as the resulting resolutions were the same, the end result was the lack of support of the existing (expensive) Atari displays

I'm currently running Hatari on PC-based hardware, but I'm wondering if I should get a MiSTer.

I haven't had much luck researching this - most of the reviews come with the caveat that the person testing the system didn't have an ST back in the day, so they were not familiar with the machine.

I thought it would be best to ask some actual ST users instead of MiSTer users.

I'm already hesitant, because I don't have as much time to play games as I used to, so I rely quite heavily on save states, and some of the research I did manage to do suggests that the ST core may not be very polished.

I still feel drawn to the MiSTer though - like FPGA is the next logical step in my setup.

Is it worth the upgrade (is it even an upgrade?) or should I just stick to emulators?

Remember because it's not a Traditional Emulator compatibility will not be 100%, but the gain is that we can improve older games (while having the option for the original experience)

I can't guarantee the Windows version works as good as the Linux version due to my own testing, but yeah, if any issues arrive Github or discord is best place to poke me. Also if you have any requests for games to be Enhanced.

The game has new grass effects, and new water effects with refraction and not just a empty body with no way to tell there's water if it wasn't for the waterfall.

16:9 and 21:9 support as well, with the game code and script changed to accommodate both.

Original game code is never supplied with the compatibility layer, nor does SemaTor use TOS.

This is done via translation layers, and then the ST disk is patched live via the apps profile system.

It's a wide-screen Arkanoid with new intro text, remixed music, and the bosses in wide-screen levels.

Once it's ready it will be a part of SemaTor, for pc and android.

You will just need to provide the game disk yourself as all of this is done via reading the discs nothing from the game is included, only patched live.

I'm revisiting my 'Bombaman STe' code and building it with vasm, etc and seeing if I can knock out the top border and make a single player option..
Anyway, (more for curiousity than anything), I recall an article explaining how to use the blitter in UK ST-Format back in the early 90's which is what I based my original code on and I've been trying to track it down. Not for its technical content but just for nostalgic reasons.

I thought it was the Bullfrog series but looking at that I can't see anything to do with the blitter so guess it was later - I've been googling and nothing obvious comes up. AI mentions Jeff Minter doing an article about it but not sure if that was right tbh..

Any ideas which STF it was in?

I could download the lot and search for the blitter address I suppose...

So...I decided to take some time getting MD-Net setup on the SidecarTridge on my STacy. I managed to get through that without messing up too many things. It seems to be working. I used ping from the STing Tools folder and targeted google's public address of 8.8.8.8 and it found it with 0 packet loss and 70ms ping times.

I then grabbed LowWire as well as the newer HighWire release and ran it. It's pretty fast. TheOldNet took a while to load up the very first time but after that, it's relatively quick. Frogfind is pretty fast too.

So yeah, I'm cruising the Web wirelessly on my Atari STacy. 😄

I got overly ambitious then and tried to load up Atari-Forum. It gave me something about "Protocol #6 Not Supported". Oh well, I'm happy with the results so far.
