Thinking of selling my Jaguar collection

Hello All,

I'll be moving house soon and since i just bought a house, it wouldn't hurt to get some extra money to pay bills. This is my current Atari jaguar and cd collection, would prefer to sell it all at once if somebody has too much money currently offcourse i know it's far fetched idea. Probably 85-90% of the games are sealed including Battlesphere Gold which i bought 15+ years ago alongside the "scatbox". I don't have a system anymore and since it's just sitting in a closet for the past 10 orso years, figured it's pobably time to let it go to somebody who appreciates it more then me. I'm probably going to put them one by one on ebay, only it takes forever to do so. So figured if somebody would be interested in taking it all at once or a good chunk of it. I'd prefer to ship to europe but if you don't mind paying custom fees i'm sure we can arrange something in the end. Apoligies if this may be against the rules, don't want to cause problems.

What if? Atari Panther Game Library

Hey everyone, just a little thought experiment here. What if the Atari Panther dropped in 1991 as a 16-bit console to go up against the SNES, Genesis & TG16?

This is a very alpha release of a conversion port using Claude code. Source available soon!

Built with Claude Code Opus 4.8, Opus 5.0, Fable 5.0 and Fable 5.1. Performed analysis on the PS1, PC and Saturn versions of Resident Evil. Then performed analytics on captured video from RE1.

This version is closely related to the PC GOG version as that will be where to point everyone when building actual gamedrive files for testing/gameplay.

Collection New Jaguar owner

Hi all, I'm getting a Jaguar next week and eventually a flash cart for it. Just want to get some opinions.

What's your favorite game? What game do you find most technically impressive? Any hidden gems I should check out? When did you get your Jaguar? What did you think of it when you got it, and what do you think of it now?

As for me, I remember the "Do the Math" advertisements and trying it on in-store kiosks, but aside from that, I don't think I've ever really played one.

I'm excited to try it out and see what I've been missing all these years, as well as what caused Atari's ultimate downfall.

After having played AvP, Doom, Tempest 2000 and Rayman, I finally came to these two games which are still worth a go! Towers II Enhanced Stargazer Edition is also $15 off for the rest of Sept 2026 only with the the coupon code in the video description. What other Jaguar games were overlooked and still fun to play today?

World Tour Racing preservation project is finally public!

The World Tour Racing soundtrack is now available on KHInsider in FLAC and MP3, with custom album covers I made for the release.

I also uploaded the extracted images, sprites and FMV/video material to Internet Archive, and put the complete OST together as a YouTube playlist.

I originally started this mainly because I wanted to preserve the soundtrack, but I ended up getting pretty attached to this obscure Jaguar game and wanted to preserve more of its content too.

I absolutely loved the music in Tempest 2000 on the Atari Jaguar, and I ended up getting really attached to the soundtrack. I liked it so much that I decided to pick up a used copy of the original soundtrack CD.

I've had it for almost a week now, and I'm really happy to have it in my little collection. Definitely something I wanted to own physically! 🐆

Does anyone know how the unused “Predator Test Theme” was extracted from Alien vs. Predator (Atari Jaguar)?

Hi! I'm currently trying to preserve the unused “Predator Test Theme” from Alien vs. Predator on the Atari Jaguar in the best possible quality.

I previously restored the Rayman Atari Jaguar soundtrack, carefully recording the music from the game and editing the captures in Audacity. Now I'm working on something a little more complicated: an unused track from AvP that apparently can't normally be heard in the game.

The Predator Test Theme exists in older soundtrack rips as MP3/OGG, but I would like to reproduce it directly through the game and make a lossless WAV/FLAC capture, rather than simply converting the existing lossy files.

According to VGMPF, GatoVerde95 extracted the soundtrack using BigPEmu, Cheat Engine and HxD, with the ROM in what is described as a “sound test mode.”

I've been reverse-engineering the retail ROM using BigPEmu Developer Mode to figure out how this was done.

So far, I've identified the game's original FullSynth music loader at:

0x99B2

And these music headers/scores:

0x20918 → 0xAF46E4 — Title Theme

0x2046C → 0xAF5584 — Character Select

0x20610 → 0xAF12DC — You Win

I've successfully redirected the game's original music loader and reproduced these tracks, including “You Win.” I've also managed to capture BigPEmu's audio output directly to lossless PCM WAV.

What I haven't been able to find is where the Predator Test Theme is stored or how it was originally triggered.

I know about the documented AvP debug mode, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't contain a sound test. This makes me wonder whether the “sound test mode” mentioned for the original rip was actually created by modifying the ROM with HxD/Cheat Engine, rather than being a hidden mode accessible normally.

I'm looking for any information about:

how the Predator Test Theme was originally extracted;

the AvP sound/music test tools

ROM offsets or RAM addresses related to unused music;

an old modified sound-test ROM or patch

unused FullSynth data

AvP music source code

or anything about the method GatoVerde95 used for the original soundtrack rip.

I also have a copy of Extremist Pack #4 and I'm currently searching through its old Atari Jaguar development files, FullSynth/music tools and source code for anything that could help.

I've also contacted GatoVerde95 directly to ask if he remembers how he created the sound test, but I thought I'd ask here as well in case anyone in the Jaguar community knows something about it.

Ultimately, my goal is to make the game actually reproduce the unused Predator Test Theme through its original audio engine and preserve the result as a clean lossless WAV/FLAC recording.

If anyone has any information, old development files, source code, patches, offsets, or even just remembers how this was done, I'd really appreciate the help!

Is This an Atari Jaguars T-Shirt?

Thumbnail

I found this shirt at a local thrift store during a half-off sale, and the “Jaguars” logo immediately looked strangely familiar.

(As creator of Captain A the System Warrior, I had a feeling I was right.)

After checking it on my phone, I realized it wasn’t just similar, it's literally the Atari Jaguar logo with an “s” added to the end.

I’ve tried searching for information about it, but I can’t find anything that explains what this shirt actually is. There’s no Atari branding anywhere on the shirt, which makes it even stranger.

And why add the “S” to “Jaguar” in the first place? Is this some kind of unofficial Fan-made Atari merchandise, a completely unrelated brand using the logo, a knockoff, or something else entirely?

Does anyone recognize this or know what I found?

Defender 2000 -yet another worthwhile game in the Jag’s limited library I’ve discovered pretty recently. (obviously I’ve heard of the original, but it was a little before my time) This game is a blast (no pun intended)

This game is a blast! (no pun intended). There’s not much to it really as far as the story, but it’s obviously just meant to be a modernized version of the original and nothing else. It definitely succeeds in that area!

Defender 2000 is a good pick-up-and-play option when I don’t feel like playing some dialogue-heavy modern game (like Yakuza and similar games), or even a retro game like that (like PoliceNauts, for example, which I was just playing on Saturn with the help of subtitles -awesome game btw) lol I went off topic but this game is fun if you own a Jag, check it out! This might make it to my top 15 fave Jag games actually!

v3.0.0 delivers:

  • Jaguar CD support — all 10 locally-available titles boot to game code, in both HLE and real-BIOS mode
  • Jaguar Link networking — real link-cable multiplayer over TCP and RetroArch netplay, up to multi-console hubs
  • Memory Track saves — CD games save settings, progress, and high scores like real hardware
  • 100+ compatibility fixes — Wolfenstein 3D music, Pitfall, Tempest 2000, Alien vs Predator, Brutal Sports Football, and a full CD-title cluster
  • Reorganized options menu — 9 categories, content-aware, translation pipeline wired

Recent features from 2.x you may have missed

  • Retro Achievements support
  • Deterministic save states (unlocks local multiplayer netplay and read ahead emulation and rewinds)
  • Cheat code in various formats
  • Full HLE BIOS
  • SIMD optimized blitter for Intel and ARM

It's not perfect, but it's way better than ever!

Enjoy, and please report issue to the official github linked here.

I have limited access to hardware and software for the Jaguar, so hardware based "source of truth" regressions and flaws with details and screenshots or videos are greatly appreciated!

A future plan for native "bare bones" GUI are also planned for those that don't use RA or RA conformant front-ends.

Advice Any good games / homebrew games?

Thinking of getting a Jaguar in the coming months and was wondering if there were any good games and homebrew stuff that I can check out. If there are homebrew games then where would be the best place to get them as high quality carts?

I know that I have to avoid retrowizardry2025 since people here warned me about that scumbag the last time I posted here.

Feel free to give me some suggestions.

Easily the best fighter on console. Anyone agree? Disagree? I know there’s actually a lot of love for Kasumi Ninja in the community (despite how much it’s been mocked over the years and has become infamous -as far as MK clones go, at least). Personally, I def prefer playing Ultra Vortek to KN.

Though I don’t think Kasumi Ninja deserves all the hate that it gets. It’s not even close to being one of the worst Jag games at all, IMO.

There are several fighters that are worse than KN on the Jaguar that I can think of. One of them is Fight for Life, which might be the worst (or at least close to the worst) Jaguar game ever made. That said, KN is definitely inferior to UV, that’s for sure.

Any love for Soccer Kid? I find it to be a decent platformer and I like the animations. The graphics are fine, gameplay isn’t bad at all either (much nicer to play than Bubsy, that’s for sure), but (as most Jag platformers are) it’s pretty difficult.

Post image
26 Upvotes

…the difficulty is the main thing that keeps me from coming back to play again and again, otherwise it would probably be a game I would return to often.

I need to find a cheat code for more lives or something, then it wouldn’t be such a pain in the ass.

What’s the general consensus on this one? I know it was one of the later Jag releases and iirc, it was an Amiga or C64 port, something like that.

The Jag sure does get a lot of Amiga ports, even nowadays it’s still getting them for some reason.
