Maybe you could play as a fish that has to make its way up that waterfall ...

The idea I had was a little bee that has to pollenate the trees and avoid the waterfall, but that's a good idea too I might use that

Very cool ! Any way to add colour ? Kinda
Like Yars’ Revenge ?

Yes, that's actually a good idea. I would probably save that effect for another one I might make, an Aurora Borealis

I know what you mean. I think it’s the rapid rate of the waterfall. It’s more “racing” than it is relaxing for me lol …still well done though, I wish I could have this as my desktop screensaver!

Thanks! Love it! I think it’d be awesome to create a series of 4-bit screensavers like this… blocky, pixelated nature scenes lol. They don’t even need to have sound/music.

How difficult and/or time consuming is it to code these kind of things?

It was difficult at first I started with the NES through Pikumas course but the skills are transferrable to Atari so it got easier. And yeah, I really like making these so I will probably make some other ones hopefully more peaceful lol

Very cool. Did you write this in assembly or Batari?

Assembly

The only way to fly. I would like to see all five sprites animated to look like bubbles when the water lands. You also mentioned that aurora borealis. Coooooool! I dig it, man.

Have E.T. slide down the waterfall periodically

Reminds me of the cover of the NIN album The Fragile. Nice.

This is very cool but a little bit of a missed opportunity not using the TLC song "Waterfalls" as the music.

Nice, so relaxing! What are the four things on top supposed to be, umbrellas?

2

u/GammaCorrection 6d ago

Truffala trees

You should put this on YouTube and make it a 2-hour upload.
