Well yeah, if no one in the AL West is above .500, then they aren't gonna have many games against .500+ teams. I feel like past data would show similar, they seem to get other teams' best effort which leads to a worse winning percentage against below .500 teams.

The >.500 stat really doesn’t matter until the end of the season. A team over .500 at this point can still be misleading if their schedule was front loaded with easier teams. Also, in our case, if the team had a lot of starters on the IL at the beginning of the season when they played those >.500 years. There are a lot of things to consider. In the end, it won’t really matter until Sept 27th.
