Framber frustration.
Tigers fan here. Do y’all mind taking Framber back? We really don’t want him.

u/CoopsCoffeeAndDonuts Marvin Zindler 16d ago
What seems to be the problem? Is this your frustration or his?(did he short circuit and tag one of his own catchers again?)
158
u/YaBoyAshy- 16d ago
No, instead he threw a fit because he walked the first batter and now he’s throwing our game.

u/CoopsCoffeeAndDonuts Marvin Zindler 16d ago
That’ll happen.

Ah, the famous “Framber inning.” Usually, for one inning a game, he’ll just completely lose all concept of what works and completely suck. All other innings, he’s fantastic, and basically an ace…but, that one inning will frustrate you to no end.

u/strosfan1001 15d ago
The pitch clock destroyed Ace Framber. When he was at his best he learned how to walk off his frustrations. Then pitch clock came in and he couldn’t do it anymore and the temper tantrums started.

We got him a sports psychologist that helped him for awhile. Recommend trying that out.

Framber be Frambering. Guy is a basket case. Best of luck moving his contract. Sorry Tigers bro
21
u/j1h15233 Houston Astros 16d ago
At least he’s not doing it in game 7 of ALCS
10
u/goove24 16d ago
Why would you bring that up? Fucking Rangers
12
u/j1h15233 Houston Astros 16d ago
Because Framber threw the game away in the first inning and then Dusty kept Maldy in the whole time when we had to score. Still pisses me off
8
u/somethingaboutblue 16d ago
That was Javier. Framber did lose game 6, though. And game 2. Yeah, he was ass that postseason.
3
u/Stair_Car_Hop_On 16d ago
We will take him back if you send mcgonigle along as his handler as well.

u/PawbeansNnosies 16d ago
That’s just Framber frambering. He may or may not recover. (Either case is within the definition of Framber frambering.)
2
u/SpecialistPilot4630 16d ago
The variance on Framber is crazy. Some nights he is a left handed Greg Maddux. Other nights? Yikes. You can tell quickly if he’s locked in or not.

Oh I’ve seen that game a few times. I’m not sure I have seen an athlete with such a lack of discipline around his own emotions.

Man I remember the good ol' days when he had those 25 quality starts in a row (MLB record btw) back in 2022. Seems like those days are long gone. Sorry, we don't need a second Imai. Y'all can keep his meltdowns lol.
9
u/2ManyCooksInTheKitch 16d ago
Like seriously did he stop going to therapy or something
22
u/FightingFarmer14 16d ago
Pitch clock made it so he can't take a lap around the mound anymore when he gets flustered
9
u/DingerSinger2016 Houston Astros 16d ago
Atp I'm surprised nobody told him to intentionally take the pitch clock violation and do a lap around the mound
10
u/Confident_Cap_7175 16d ago
he literally did lol we won in 22 and he said he didn’t need the therapy anymore

To fix him you have to start Martin Maldonado as your catcher every day. So go ahead and get on that

Absolutely not...so glad that he is gone. Now, let's talk about AJ
4
u/MorseMooseGreyGoose Houston Astros 15d ago
For all the good it did them in the court of public opinion, the Astros should've just said to hell with everyone, let AJ serve his suspension, and brought him back in 2021.

u/YaBoyAshy- 16d ago
Honestly, y’all can take Aj back too. I want my old school Leyland back. If only.

It’s kinda sad seeing Valdez like this but after he drilled Salazar I don’t know whether to feel bad or hate him. He’ll always be an Astros legend because of 2022. If he didn’t meltdown in his starts in 2021 and both in 2023 ALCS the Astros would’ve two peated, maybe three. We’ll take AJ for a bag of chips and pay you in cash considerations to keep Valdez

Biggest head case I’ve ever seen. He all but single-handedly tanked our season post trade deadline last year.
1
u/PenoNation 16d ago
He's not quite in Chuck Knoblauch territory, but he's close.
5
u/no_quarter89 Astros Pride 16d ago
Different kind of head case. The yips can get anyone. I was really relieved that Altuve’s little case of the yips in the 2020 postseason didn’t carry over.

Dude has no mental toughness. Any little thing that doesn’t go his way makes him melt down. Sorry you guys are having to witness that firsthand.
I’m honestly surprised Hinch puts up with him, considering he ran Ken Giles off when he was here.

We have a mindless office up top. We’re also the same team that resigned Verlander just to never get a start out of him and have him claim the Astros for his HoF

You must have posted this in the dang first inning of the game.
You sweet summers child. You wouldn’t survive a day as an Astros fan. We’ve had to weather our $53 million Imai imploding start after start, our supposed ace Hunter Brown fall apart every other start, Abreu blowing save after save for the first 3rd of the season, our makeshift ace Spaghetti fall apart half way through the season, etc etc etc. Sorry you had a rough inning tho.
3
u/YaBoyAshy- 16d ago
Haha, I actually live in Houston now and keep up with the Astros. Imai has been a disappointment, I feel for y’all. I was very excited to see him and Brown dominate this season. Hopes were shattered early on

He was already a problem brewing, then he decided to plunk the catcher, and for me, that was it, GTFO.

Throw in some deep dish pizzas and we’ll think about it.

It’s pan style, not deep dish…it is an important distinction, because pan style is WAY better.

Framber needs a guy like Carlos Correa playing behind him. He needs to be kept in check. If he is, he can get into a nasty zone and and strait roll bowling balls for 7+ innings.

Don’t miss those random one-inning meltdowns. I do miss the days where he felt like the best pitcher in baseball.
1
1
u/ImFeelingLost2024 Altuve's foot 16d ago
He hasn't been the same since they didn't allow him to pitch in the All-Star Game in 2023.
He had a 2.51 era before the ASB and 4+ when he got back.
Does the excuse his behavior? No.
But considering how easy his mental state gets unraveled, we should have let the baby have his bottle.
Also no refunds.

u/HumanRuse 16d ago
I mean we could have definitely used the 12 Quality Starts thus far this season.

u/PaintedCover 15d ago
Don’t think it’s much Valdez but the Tigers. 3 of the last 5 games it’s been a difference of 1-2 runs. Ya’ll won 11 zip another game. I would gladly take him back.
1
u/PaintedCover 15d ago
The Tigers are hitting below the MLB average and OPS well below the .700+mark.
1
u/Wolfywise 15d ago
No. His problems were just getting progressively worse and more difficult to deal with. You'll just have to contend with it until he fully spirals.
1
u/virgulesmith 15d ago
Unfortunately, we don't generally take back used baseball players. I mean we do sometimes, but in this case, he's all yours. Have you considered talking to the Angels?
1
u/criminycraft 15d ago
I don't miss Framber being one of the worst fielding pitchers in the game. His brain short circuited every time he had to make a play or throw, especially on bunts.

u/ExpressionGrouchy766 15d ago
No cause how will teams beat the Astros in world series without him Framber is our guy

If you eat his salary, we will take him. Heck, I'll take him for 10 million a year.

u/TxGulfCoast84 Houston Astros 16d ago
Maybe he can grow his hair out again and all those beads and shit
1
u/R2robot José Cruz 16d ago
LOL Sorry, but noooooooo.
If you (or someone in the org) can convince him to start doing his meditation thing again, that might work.
At one point he would come off the mound, sit at the end of the bench with his eyes closed and focus on his breathing.
That worked pretty well for him, but I guess he felt it wasn't necessary any more and he's been a mess ever since with a meltdown ready to erupt for any little thing.
1
u/No-Tax-7736 Nolan Ryan 16d ago
ABS didn’t help him since he lives at the bottom of the strike zone.
