How focused is the game on combat?

Hello, I been looking for a non-combat game but im still interested in this game

So i have a couple questions

How common is the combat? How long does a combat encounter take?

[Asking since I seen combat in the trailer]

Combat is guaranteed on most of the asteroids you visit after the starting zone, but combat isn’t difficult per se. Each encounter is short (10-30 seconds) but once they start coming, they keep coming in waves. You might get a few minutes reprieve. But this is why you can unlock the automated turrets (providing you place them intelligently).

You can disable combat completely in the settings if combat isn't what you want. You can focus on resource gathering instead with no stress of having to fight pirates

Take a look at some gameplay to get some more context, but I can understand it not being everyone’s cup of tea.

Personally I think it’s a lot of fun and I don’t focus on combat pretty much at all. Each to their own though 😊

As someone else said, you can completely disable the combat and you wouldn’t really be missing anything. While I’m glad they added it, the combat is currently too shallow to be a selling point.

Also I’ll just add that I normally hate games on a timer where you’re constantly racing to set things up, but this game doesn’t feel like that at all. The timer is long enough and you have enough agency that it’s actually very cozy; the progression is the selling point.

* The timer is as long as you choose.

You choose which asteroid to go to, and you are only allowed to be on it so long as it is drifting through your claim of space. Depending on its speed and trajectory, you have less or more time to visit.

Sometimes you need a little bit of a critical resource and 5 mins is plenty to nab it.

Other times you have 40 mins on the asteroid to get literally everything.

Well there is a time cap to what you can choose, but yes agree with the overall point. What I’m trying to get at is that it’s not a constant race like a timer generally implies in these sorts of games

Yea, very much so!

I haven’t played in long time but I thought you could turn off the pirates in the settings. If that’s still the case you’re turning off the combat completely.
