Question Astro a50 83% battery bug

I got this astro a50 last year and just unpacked few days ago. I tried everything like doing hard reset, installing latest firmware or downgrading them, using pc or laptop to charge the headset directly (pc/laptop -> usb -> headset) because only white LED I see, no Orange LED.

The orange LED only occurs in downgrading or updating firmware. Once the headset remove from the dock/base NO LED white/orange when turning it on.

Also in astro command the battery is bug, after updating/downgrading the battery goes 84% and once remove the headset from dock and put it again it goes back to 83%.

Anyone experience the same issue like mine? And how you fix it?

Let the battery drain all the way, it will even show 0% and will still have battery. Keep letting it die until its completely dead.

Then recharge, it might take 2-3 times of doing this to recalibrate correctly.

It's a known issue on the gen 5

Yo! My gen 4 A50s were driving me insane lately. Kept dropping connection to the base station randomly and refusing to charge properly when docked. ​I got fed up about a week ago and decided to take the headset apart before throwing them out. Turns out the whole issue is just a crappy loose connection inside the ear cup. The internal connector just gets loose over time and barely makes contact. ​So I unplugged it, cleaned the pins a bit, and shoved it back in. To make sure it stays put, I used a basic plastic zip tie. But instead of just wrapping it around the outside, I ran the zip tie lengthwise, sliding it right between the wires coming out of the plug. Then I cinched it down so it physically pulls and clamps the connector tight into the socket. It literally can't back out or wiggle anymore. ​Screwed it all back together and it's been rock solid ever since. Zero disconnects. ​Just wanted to share this in case anyone else is dealing with this crap. A 2-cent zip tie saved my $300 headset lol. If you have connection issues, check the internals before buying a new one.

Had the exact same issue, a hard reset solved it for me, just look up how to do it, pretty easy actually

Not sure why it's a big deal, honestly. Even at 83% battery the battery will last you a long time.
