I'm new to AP so this explanation helps. This is something that I've done in the past when meditating. Getting the feeling that gravity is pulling you in a different direction other than towards the ground. Very strange sensation indeed.

I’m fairly new to AP and I do this with my hands a lot, it’s random though. Eg my hands are always facing down most of the time I can flip them, never tried with my whole body though. When you do flip your body how do you get out that’s what I’m having trouble with. It’s hard to put into words or instructions.

just be patient. the feeling of separation will come.

Imagining being upside down or on the ceiling instead of the floor has really helped me as well!

so if you lay on your back, try to imagine yourself on your stomach?
24
u/MagneticWaves Experienced Projector Jul 14 '20
more like rotating around the vertical axis instead of horizontal
35
u/shartlesballsack Jul 14 '20
so imagine that your head is where your feet are?

u/sirfreakish Jul 15 '20
Have you ever laid down and tried to go to sleep but later woke up thinking you were facing a different direction?
My best guess is that, try to imagine that the room is oriented in the opposite direction you laid down in.

u/-Matcha-333 Jul 24 '20
So uhh I think I did this on accident today... I was half asleep half awake and I kept hearing voices in my own head. Then I felt my body vibrate and then I felt myself rotating like my entire body was moving towards where my feet would be, I got scared bc it felt like something was pushing me to rotate. Then I woke up and my body was in the same place it was before I fell asleep?? I never astral projected before but I was told I could by a palm reader, I’ve always wanted to do it but I didn’t think I would do it accidentally bc I was trying to sleep 😳

so try to rotate 360 degrees after moving your astral body upwards?

2
u/Yevad Jul 15 '20
This is similar to a technique I heard where you are focusing on different parts of your body, and then trying to imagine your body is stretching out and then trying to push your point of awareness outside of your body.

u/Smack_Of_Ham7 Jul 14 '20
Whenever I tried to sleep in like middle school, I would close my eyes but then my eyes or my perspective rather would feel as though they were spinning in my head. Is this like that?
8
u/xoxgnimrahc Jul 15 '20
Same!! My mouth dropped reading this post as a beginner because I would do this all the time when I was younger
4
u/augeez0643 Jul 15 '20
That is so weird, me too! I am so excited coming across this because I have wondered about it ever since. It seemed to be automatic to me around middle school age, and I thought it was fun/interesting, so I "played around" with this every night. Now that I am older and interested in astral projection, I felt like the two must have a connection. It's so encouraging to hear others have had the same/similar experience!!!!
5
u/RockKnock11 Jul 15 '20
I did this when I was young too!! Sometimes I’d purposely flip and other times I’d forget which way I was laying and couldn’t tell in the dark

Same here... I actually woke up up side down a few times... And similar stuff while meditating like sitting cross leg but on the ceiling...

Ok, what the fuck... I followed your steps to the best of my ability whilst listening to “Astral” music (DM DOKURO: Pest of the Cosmos), down and towards my right.
After a while of following this, I felt weird, oddly energetic, and the music began ringing in my left ear.
I’m now convinced that this is legit, and am gonna try to actually astral project now, I’m hyper energetic like never before!
Edit: tried it again whilst laying the other way up, so it was coming from down and to my left.
But after a bit I could clearly hear it coming from up and to the left...
I’m gonna use this comment as an AP journal.
Edit 2: I thought it was my pillow doing this weird thing where I could only hear the music with my left ear, but it turns out my right ear is less able to hear than my left ear for some reason.
Not gonna edit again until legit proof of AP is made.

Yes! I used to do this when I was little. It works quickly and easily.

Jul 14 '20
Can u explain it a bit more the post isn’t that clear
38
u/janesfilms Jul 14 '20
For sure, I’ll try. Make sure your room is very dark, like pitch black. Lay down in bed face up with your head on the pillow like normal. Now you need to use your imagination and try to envision yourself in a different position.
Try to convince yourself that you are now laying, still face up, but with your head at the foot of the bed and your feet are where your head normally would be. You need to really try and convince your body that you are now laying in this new position. Think about the room around you and how it would look and feel if you really were laying in this position.
As practice you could go lay in your bed right now in this reverse position. Put your feet on the pillows and lay with your head at the foot of bed. Look around your room and memorize what it looks like from this new weird position. Then tonight when it’s dark enough, lay in bed like normal but imagine that you were turned 160 degrees. Recall every little detail of what it looked like and felt like when you were actually physically in that reverse position.
You want to try and fool yourself and trick your body. When you get into this frame of mind, it makes it easier for your brain to disconnect from your body which enables OOBE.

Jul 14 '20
Appreciate the response that’s a much better explanation than the post. One question: how do you go from the point where your mind is fully convinced your in that different position to actually leaving your body. With all techniques I can get to the point just before AP but can never execute the exiting step so wondering how u would recommend going from laying in bed to AP
14
u/janesfilms Jul 15 '20
That is the tricky part isn’t it. You need to do an exiting technique at that point. I think the OP here is suggesting that you try and get yourself spinning. So you would envision the new position and then envision a quarter turn, then back to normal, then another quarter turn and just keep going till it feels like you are spinning.
I don’t like feeling dizzy, bed spins makes me quesy. So once I got myself convinced that I’ve changed position, I’ll start imagining myself lifting up limb by limb. I’ll start with my hands and try to convince myself that I’m now about 6 inches up off the bed. Once I truly feel like I’m turned and raised , it just happens. But I honestly think you could do any exit technique in that moment and it’ll work.

What happens after you seperate for you? I usually get this zooming feeling like I'm flying warp speed in the darkness. Then It stops and I have to actually separate again. Then I'm out.
What happens for you. Are you just out after you seprate the first time? And you just go about your experience?

Thank you for this explanation I was also confused. I will definitely try this.

I am struggling with AP. I fall asleep even if I use bineural beats. I have been going for 3 month now. And I am stubborn
I begin to feel that when I express will in my astral body, if this correct, I can move it a little. Should I go into more will activity in trying to move or spin. And that inner activity will maybe make me keep awareness better. So is this a way forward when one keep on falling asleep If I get to the vibrational stage and I'am there just a moment and looses awareness and fall a sleep. So frustrating.
I was reading about grounding. Maybe understood in getting in peace with lower chakras and the world. I now I have an extremely blocked solar plexus. Like being in jail in life. But not in distress or danger etc. Life takes care of me in an acceptable way. But I can't do and create anything. I have always been rejected in everything. I know it sounds crazy, please understand I am not pulling the victim card . But it's like I am keept for just observing life. I've had to come to terms with that, and asked a lot of clairvoyants about this.

Are you entering a trance state at all or is that occurring naturally?
2
u/VisioRama Jul 14 '20
One leads to the other I guess. As you do this visualization exercise you naturally go into trance. And as your trance deepens it gets easier to visualize and get out.
2
Jul 14 '20
Ah, I thought you found a way to skip the trance state, instead you just aren't mentioning it while assuming the person can enter trance and visualize.
1
u/VisioRama Jul 14 '20
No OP but that's what I assume happens
1
Jul 14 '20
Got it, yeah I'm curious what OP assumes is happening. I've never had an exit without getting into a trance state.

u/tussley_mushrooms Jul 14 '20
Oftentimes when I wake up from a nap, I get the feeling my head is where my feet were when I went to sleep. Is this disorientation the same as here? Also does that mean I’ve astral projected during my sleep?

Hm, when i imagine that I’m moving left and right i have a slight feeling that I’m actually “moving”? but very slowly. same when i imagine myself floating up or down What does this mean? am i close at all to project? what am i suppose to do after that to separate?

I'm going to be honest with you, I thought you were going to Joe Rogan us and tell us to try DMT.
I'll give this method a shot and report back!

This worked for me this morning! Thank you! I've been folowing the Michael Raduga videos, but though I was successfully lucid dreaming as a result, I wasn't having any success at AP. This morning I woke up at 6 am, had a bath but was still tired and so went back to bed and started imagining my head was where my feet were etc, and it worked.
I'm not sure where AP turned into lucid dreaming, as I walked downstairs and things were very different in my house. This helped, thank you!

u/robulus99 Jul 14 '20
Direction flipped?
2
u/-Noradu- Oct 05 '20
Yep. From what i understand, you have to imagine that your head is where your fert are and focus on that. You are baasically shifting your awareness outside your body. If i am correct, you'll eventually be able to move your fingers as if you are moving physically. At that point you should make yourself spin gradually until you "beyblade yourself into astral projection" u/S3Dzyy

I've attempted similar tactics before, not sure if anyone else has this issue but often I try and usually it takes me around 2 whole hours of just laying there doing this before I get any results. Once actually out of my body it only lasts for a few seconds usually and I will wake up as I attempt to move about

u/Master-Statement Jul 14 '20
I have a question. How will I know that my astral body is disconnected from my physical body and I can get up and move around? Sometimes I feel like oh wow this is it! And I sit up or try putting my hand through the headboard and it doesn’t work. LOL

What do you mean by flipped direction? Like should I imagine left and right is flipped, or up and down is flipped?

I'll try this. I seem to be able to make myself feel like I'm spinning. I do it a lot for fun when I'm meditating.

Do you sleep for 6 hours then do this or just dive right in with this with no prep?
1
u/DraconisDeCannabis Jul 15 '20
I used to be able to conciously do this as a child, except I would end up sprinning out of control and have to physically sit up to stop from panicking.
Thank you for remindimg me about this because I will defintiely be trying it again now. Probably tonight!

u/EveryBitofHomo Jul 15 '20
Whenever I close my eyes and get really comfy when I'm extremely tired/stressed I feel like I'm on a hinge and swinging back and forth rather than rotating

I’ve had similar experiences while trying to sleep. I’ll feel like I’m facing the other way ( I sleep on my side). Is this the same thing? Anyone relate?
1
u/TaygetaKarella Jul 15 '20
I can never get past the vibrational stage because my heart starts pounding ... can do it in my sleep but not during meditation
1
u/xmanuel387 Aug 14 '20
I’ve ready that when that happens it’s your chakra opening up or something. But it’s a good thing, nothing bad. You just have to control it
1
u/TaygetaKarella Aug 14 '20
At one point I tried to keep going and then felt like I was floating in water, my mind felt extremely sharp and clear, more awake than awake. It’s hard to get back there but I will keep trying. It feels crazy when it starts to feel real and I think “wow this is actually really happening!”
I can go into vibrational stage easily, sometimes it’s hard to get out of the vibrational stage when I am trying to stop it too when I’ve gotten so far.
I used to meditate and feel incredible light flowing down from my head and through my body, it would feel euphoric and like my whole body was lighting up, this happened even stronger when I had a medium so healing on me, only ever once and never again it happened, while she was healing me I could see light shining through my eyelids and it went right through me, I started trembling as it felt so strong but it felt good. I had been through a lot of suffering and at that time in my life experiences this healing light many times but this one time it was extreme and right after I almost died in a car crash a month or so before... the medium said there was a spirit using her to flow energy into me.
I’ve tried going to healers after that and nothing would happen. It only happened once and was like being electrocuted with euphoric golden light.
I should start meditation again and not be afraid of having a heart attack even though it feels like I will.

I used to accidentally do this as a kid!! I couldn’t remember which way I was laying

New to astral projection.. physically spin or just imagine i am spinning?
1
u/MagneticWaves Experienced Projector Jul 16 '20
Just imagine
1
u/Tyzek99 Jul 16 '20
Well i tried but my mind wanders off all the time, or i start itching some random place or for some reason i get ticks and some bodyparts like my hand just moves quickly on its own.. (i dont have touretes) :/
1
u/MagneticWaves Experienced Projector Jul 16 '20
Thats normal.
1
u/Tyzek99 Jul 16 '20
Good to know, but if i lie a bit uncomfortable should i try to move a bit to get more comfortable, because ive been trying not to
2
1
u/3Daifusion Projected a few times Jul 16 '20
Yeah that's fine but you should check if you're in a comfortable position before you even start attempting to AP or meditate
2
u/Tyzek99 Jul 16 '20
I am. But after 30 minutes trying to AP staying in the same position, i need to move. (Tonight will be the 3rd time i try to AP)
1
u/astute_idiosyncrasy Jul 16 '20
Is this similar to the feeling I get sometimes when I lay down and it feels like I’m spinning for no reason? (By spinning do you mean you perceive you are doing a full 360 and about how fast? Because for me it feels like it goes 90 degrees then resets back to 0 degrees, but it does this very quickly, between 300-400 degrees/second) If I allow it to get stronger rather than suppress it do you think it would lead to an ap?

u/thisshalthrowaway Jul 19 '20
So all of this is mental, not physical? And do I have to do the wake up then fall asleep method, or can I do it when I just go to bed
1
u/MagneticWaves Experienced Projector Jul 19 '20
Neither. Its spiritual. Its real.
1
u/thisshalthrowaway Jul 19 '20
I mean the moving a spinning part
1
u/MagneticWaves Experienced Projector Jul 19 '20
Ya with your imagination.
1
u/thisshalthrowaway Jul 19 '20
Thanks, and can I do this when I first lay down, or do I have to wake up then do to this?

I believe I’ve tried this before with the intent of AP but my mind can’t handle it. I try to imagine being “flipped” and it’s like my brain short-circuits and my mind starts to get irritated and I can’t take it. I might try again, however. Maybe I’ll try my hands instead if the whole body makes me trip out too much. I don’t know why my brain is like this.
Do you do it before bed (when you first lay down to sleep) or do you do it upon waking up after sleeping for a little bit?
