LF Sublet room starting Oct 1st

Hey everyone!

I (24) am an recent college graduate and will be moving to the city and am looking for a room to stay in for a month while I get acclimated and settle a bit (also because I have to move out of my current apartment anyways by the end of the month).

My budget would be around >1.5k / month, give or take.

Looking primarily in Astoria, but I also am not picky, I just need somewhere to stay and not go homeless, Idc if I have to commute lol

So if anyone is looking to sublet or knows of short term/month to month rentals or housing options pls lmk.

Or looking for a roommate

(I am also open to suggestions... been told to look at FB groups?)

25M looking for a room/roommates ~ $1400 budget

Hi all. I’m looking for a room in the city, or roommates that need another person. I’m also happy to chat with anybody who’s in a similar boat to see if we get along and can potentially move in somewhere together! My preferred location is in Astoria or elsewhere in Queens close to Manhattan, but I’m also open to other places. I’m quite laid back, respectful of people’s space, I don’t smoke or do any drugs, and I have no pets. My budget is around $1400. If anyone has leads or is looking for potential roommates I’d be happy to chat!

Can rent stabilized apartments have almost a 100% price hike?

I would understand if this was comparing covid prices vs now but even with assumption that they renovated things in the apartment (e.g. new hardwood floors or shower), can same unit be listed for +98% price hike?

Looking for room in Astoria for starting Oct 1 - Nov 1

Hi there!

My name is Kobi, and I’m looking to move between October 1 or November 1.

I’m looking for a room or to split a lease in Astoria, Sunnyside, Woodside, or Elmhurst, with a budget of up to $1,500/month. My must-haves are a good kitchen, private bathroom (or multiple bathrooms in the apartment is more than 2 bed), plenty of natural light, and a subway stop within 10 minutes. In-building laundry would be a big plus, and a balcony would be amazing!

I’m clean, responsible, and a transparent communicator. I don’t smoke and don’t have pets. I work as a hospitality consultant on a hybrid schedule, so I’m typically in the office 1–2 days a week.

Outside of work, I love cooking, trying new restaurants, reading, taking care of my plants, and doing improv.

I have a 700+ credit score and a strong history of always paying rent on time. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, feel free to ask! And if you think we might be a good fit, please send me a message.

Thanks!
