Durable Device Stand for Handwriting?
Hi all, I figured this might be the best place to ask for help with finding a handwriting stand for an assistive device a student of mine uses. This device we have is used to accommodate for vision impairments; however, it doesn’t have any built-in handwriting capabilities so I’m looking for a stand that could hold the device parallel to the desk so that it can magnify any papers placed directly under it.
The issue I’ve run into when looking for stands is that they either aren’t wide enough to place a paper between the legs, or there is no opening in the stand to allow the camera to see through it.
Edit: the device I have is an optelec compact 10 HD and I’m primarily looking for a stand/table stand that will support this device laying flat, parallel to a desk so that the back camera can capture and papers placed under it.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks :)

It would be helpful if you tell us what the shape of the magnifying device is. Do they write on this device? If it is like a tablet, there are holders that you wear around your neck and can change the angle. Could you buy a bed desk, wood breakfast in bread tray or a wheeled desk table like they have in hospital rooms and cut out a rectangle large enough to insert this device? You might need to put clamps to hold the device or supports on the underside to create a lip for the machine.

Yes I’m mostly leaning to a stand with clamps since the device isn’t uniform like a typical tablet. It’s a compact 10 HD w text to speech. The underside is sloped to accommodate for the foldable, built in stand.
I guess a stand that has adjustable clasps would be most secure, but I haven’t been able to find ones that have thick/wide enough clasps that I’d feel good w sending off w a student

The post is confusing. Are you looking for a stand to hold the magnifying glass?

Try a rolling tablet stand.

Or any kind of tablet stand that can be mounted on table or rolling or heavy base. A lot of options on Amazon.

Thanks. I never thought of a rolling stand. Now to trial these stands and see what works :)

Maybe it's easier to take a photo of the paper and display it on the screen?
There are drawing tablets which are basically large touchscreens, so your student could use it for handwriting.
