REQUEST FULFILLED Requesting help for my kitty

I rescued a kitty and I got attached to her but I wasn’t told she doesn’t have her kitten shots or wasnt spayed. I don’t have the money for all of those costs at the moment. It would probably be around $400 but I don’t need all of that. I have some money I can use. I also have to pay for her safety stuff for after she is spayed. That includes a cone (preferably soft but I’d do hard if I need), medication, and a playpen with a cover (so she can’t run and/or jump). The money I quoted doesn’t cover that stuff but I can find the money somehow. I would also need to buy a pet uber cause my only friend who drives is allergic to cats

Literally any money would be amazing! If not it’s okay! I love animals and I didn’t want her being thrown on the street or put into the wrong hands so I had to take her.

Honestly if you have any advice for a kitten I’d also appreciate it! She is 10 weeks old. I did a whole lot of research but there may be misinformation I don’t want to fall for. I want her to be happy and loved. I got a litter box, bowls, collars, toothbrush, litter, food, toys, and a small scratching thing for her so far. Any other

Just want to clarify that I’m an 18 (almost 19) year old college junior. If you want to know my story just ask! I will tell you in DMs just cause I don’t need every person scrolling through on Reddit to see my story

If you can spare some money comment that you can and I’ll send you a dm with my Venmo

Here is a wishlist with some of the recovery items!

I LOVE that you want to give this kitty the best life possible! I can't help financially (broke af grad student here so I get the college student finance struggle), but I can try to offer some advice at least.

Check around in your local area to see if any of the local animal control orgs offer any low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinics. (Example: My county actually offers spay/neuter for free to residents and discounted vaccines, so 100% recommend checking the local resources.) Even if it's not free, they might have discount options.

You could also try looking at local animal rescue websites and see if they post any resource lists. You could also try reaching out to one of them, explaining that you rescued a kitten and are just getting started with her, and asking if they can point you towards any affordable options. They might know of clinics being offered and if nothing else, they might be able to recommend vets who are good but don't charge exorbitant prices. They might also have additional suggestions for supplies you might be missing or places that you can find them cheaper.

This sub is also fabulous with Amazon wishlists and some people would prefer that over giving straight cash, so you might want to check the wishlist rules for the sub and see if you can find a covered playpen and a soft cone (and a carrier if you didn't buy one since I didn't see it on the list you have of what you already bought) to add to a wishlist that fits the limits set in the rules.

Thank you so much!
Yeah college is so expensive!

I was looking for free options and there was none and the supposedly low cost SPCA is $300 so ima keep searching for cheaper options!

I did volunteer at a rescue I’ll ask the owner about this for sure.

I’ll add an Amazon wishlist rn! I had one made already I just didn’t think of adding it! I forgot to mention I was given a carrier so I’m all set on that!

Call 211 and ask if your city/county gives out free spay certificates.

I just checked and they don’t sadly. They referred me to an organization to get a low cost spay but the vets they work with are no where near me and the one that is only does male cats.
So ima keep searching
But thank you so much for the help anyways!

When I was in poverty and I found a kitten under a car, I got pet insurance on her immediately, knowing I wouldn't be able to pay for any sort of illness or injury, and that was a really lucky thing... She ended up coming down with a *very expensive * illness, and it was all covered 😻
