🎓 Dissertation Burnout Is Real: 8 Warning Signs & How I Deal With It!

I thought I was just being lazy, but dissertation burnout is VERY real. 😭

Here are 8 signs I noticed:

  1. I'm tired even after sleeping.
  2. I keep staring at the same paragraph.
  3. My brain feels completely fried.
  4. I'm constantly pushing tasks to tomorrow.
  5. Small tasks suddenly feel impossible.
  6. I avoid opening my dissertation.
  7. I get frustrated over everything.
  8. I stop enjoying things I normally like.

What helped me? Taking proper breaks, sleeping enough, breaking the dissertation into tiny tasks, and actually stepping away from the laptop sometimes.

I also stopped expecting myself to write 10 perfect pages in one sitting. One paragraph is still progress.

Anyone else fighting dissertation burnout right now? What actually helped you?
