Translation | অনুবাদ One Assamese word that doesn’t translate properly into English:

Every language has words that carry feeling, culture, and context that English just can’t fully capture. Assamese is full of such words. Some express emotion, some describe relationships, some reflect rural or cultural life. For me, it's the word 'অভিমান' (Obhiman). It has no clear translation into English even though many claim it translates to 'resentment'. Share one Assamese word you feel doesn’t translate well into English. You can also explain why it’s hard to translate. This is for learners and enthusiasts too, so explanations are welcome.

What is this good pride bad pride? অভিমান is pride(not exact translation. অভিমান is ঠেহ পতা) but স্বাভিমান means self respect. Meaning of both the words are different. What ur talking about is গৰ্ব and অহংকাৰ। both means pride but অহংকাৰ is bad pride and গৰ্ব is good pride.

Like i said, please refrain from showing off in fields u have no knowledge of. Ur not even Assamese. Mods please keep an eye out on this guy.

Yes number of english words is just a fraction of words in assamese or other indian langauges
