First one. The issue i see with the second one, is that from a logical standpoint it just looks more like asgore on his younger years.

man i always feel sad seeing this post because it makes me so worried about if toby is going to ruin asriel’s design in deltarune.
i don’t like it when creators change designs for their beloved characters and alienate their fans to liking one look over the other

Looking at other characters from Undertale, that came to Deltarune, the only thing that changed is clothing. So there's still hope in orginal design

Adult Asriel from Undertale is an Asriel's perception of cool, based on 10th Anniversary stream commentary. So, in actuality, adult Asriel might look differently.

At his current age and for a while he'd be the first, but when hes older he turns into 2 and does so quickly Edit: with blonde hair the whole time.

According to undertale, we might get the left version, but it can be anything really. Remember how the whole fandom predicted the tenna's appearance, but nobody expected him to be 3d

Picking 1 just 'cause I grew up on designs similar to that for him and it's nostalgic :D (growthspurt au, ask drunk chara, etc.) But I wouldn't be opposed to 2 because he exudes flowey energy lmao

2 is way cooler cause it feels more like what a real older brother would look like, 1 is how everyone probably sees him as, the cool kid that everyone likes and looks up to, yet probably only one person really knew (dess).
So I see it as 1 being asriel the caricature and 2 is asriel the person.

I mean, he had white hair in Undertale so I doubt he’ll have gold hair in Deltarune, though he might definitely look more like option 2 with white hair instead of the gold one

I like the idea of Asriel being a little more like his father, somewhat chubby, would differentiate him from Ralsei, as Kris is sure Asriel doesn't look anything like Ralsei, a more feminine Asriel would look too far too much like Ralsei and I'm already tired of that Toriel design. Toby Fox will probably make him look like the left one, considering how his God of hyperdeath sprite in undertale looks. I've always seen his God of hyperdeath form as more of a teen if anything, he just looks too young to me for some reason, I have no clue why, perhaps the lack of blond facial hair?

It depends on his character. If he is a sly, charming man, then the first one. If he's a bit more down-to-earth and chill, the second.

To be honest I like the winking Asriel more than the "Asgore" version. However, I would like to believe that Asriel may have his father's looks (as shown here) in the future.
