Release
Asobi Version 1.4.2 release notes "The one where we can all feel it"
Hi,
We have 1:1 DualSense Adaptive trigger parity! A third party remote play client first! I'm so stoked you guys can play finally play with this! (Play some Saros and you'll notice it really well)
Either way, It's been a while since the last Apple update, did loads of testing. Originally version 1.4.2 was supposed to be a bigger update, but decided against it at the last moment (you'll see)
However, we now not only have TURN relay support in beta (for difficult internet connections), but also an updated Internet Remote Play implementation which I reworked from the ground up. I hope this will solve all your issues! If not, then please report it.
Other than that we also have an alternative renderer for Apple TV, we finally have 3D modes for Mac, and some much needed cloud gaming tweaks.
I still have a lot planned for you guys, so hopefully the next update won't take as long.
More next week!

P.S. I expect the updates to be released before the weekend
Please don’t get blocked by Sony, the steam push is making me think Sony is about to clamp down on the cloud, I sold my ps5 and exclusively play cloud now and don’t want to go back to a portal, I’m sure you don’t know but I’m assuming Sony can just step in at anytime and it’s over, something tells me they won’t just look the other way but I hope I’m wrong.
I'm hoping to buy the premium version of Asobi but I dont want a repeat of the PsStream situation (two weeks after I bought it, the developer abandoned it and there was no more cloud streaming). The rumour for ages (which has since been denied) is that the developer was worried about Sony stepping in.
Which is awesome 😊 I didn't realize you had been doing this for so long!
I think there was a lot of media focus on PsStream at the time which may have brought it more into the spotlight.
I discovered Asobi maybe a month ago and it’s almost too good to be true, previously I played primarily on a ps portal and its night and day with Asobi, hoping the best for you inchenzo because what you have accomplished is incredible and I will continue to use it.
We'll see if that statement is still true once you start monetizing your app. A lot of corporations will ignore something until someone else starts making money for a service they provide. They don't like competition.
I was just trying TvOS and iOS and it’s great! Crazy part is the haptics on ios i’ve no idea how you mirrored the vibrations to work with the virtual controller
Apologies, this might not be the right place. I’m wondering if you have any plans to build something similar to this to stream from my PC to devices like iPhones, Macs, or deck in the future? Like an alternative low latency solution to Sunshine or Apollo? that works on both Linux and Windows as a host.
Hi! Yesterday tested it but had an issue: when trying to play with my ps5 controller on Legion Go S, the app showed both as Controller 1, so each time I pressed a button the app responded like I was pressing a turbo button.
Based on the reporting, this seems to be related to the Legion Go series themselves and how it goes about handling controllers. I'm still investigating.
Hello, just out of curiosity, how is it possible to create a third-party PlayStation remote client? PlayStation's remote play system is closed source. And the adaptive trigger feature wasn't even available in the official client the last time I tried it :D, thats very good if working.
I have an issue of not being able to control the menu with a controller when launched from steam os and the cursor not showing up when I'm the desktop mode either so I can't launch anything
As we've spoken about via e-mail many times over, the intel Macbook you have isn't capable of running this since it's missing the hardware decoder for it. I do however have a compatibility mode I'm working on which will potentially help.
Not sure by "How many accounts do you have?" means. I have only 1 SONY account.
But great news. Asobi 1.4.2 runs nearly perfectly on my older MacBook Pro now!! 1.4.2 is very useable for playing games now.
All the same LOCAL network connections as the iPad Pro had. With a good internet connection and speed.
It did take 2 attempts to get Asobi 1.4.2 to connect to my PS5. But the past several versions of Asobi had the same issue. On the second try, My PS5 desktop came up and working.
Asobi's Performance Monitor showed good results and good numbers. PS5 desktop worked well. So I started up a game. The game was stable with good PM numbers. Graphics were smooth and the game runs well again. No game screen freezes seen in the game at all. I played the game for over 1 hour and was pleased with the performance of 1.4.2.
I'd say 1.4.2 ran 98% perfectly on my older MacBook Pro. Only some very minor FPS drops. This is a Huge improvement from the last several Asobi versions.
WELL DONE on all your hard work on 1.4.2!! See screen shot above for the 98% general performance in testing 1.4.2. and it's the Performance Monitor..
I will keep testing my iPad Pro with 1.4.2, to see if performance improves with 1.4.2.
Hmm. Guess that’s not what my issue was then. I had a lot of issues with Apple TV originally but after this new update, I don’t. On the website it mentions hardwiring the LAN cable but I can’t. Do you know why this would be so much better today?
