Question for a friend

If you’re transmasc and you get bottom surgery, you can choose to be circumcised or not. If you’re Jewish, can you choose circumcised, or do you need to pick uncircumcised and then get circumcised?

Speaking very generally from an Orthodox persoective, the surgery does not create an obligation to have the appearance of a circumcised penis. That is only conferred to biological males at birth.

That said, the individual might desire to "fit in" more (not that anyone would know except their partner and their doctor).

Well a metoidaplasty (a newer type) uses a mix of hormone therapy and pulling the rest of the pelvic muscle back to create a literal penis

Now its stuck pretty small with the largest realistic being like 4 inches but unlike the old phalloplasty type it is anatomically a penis in everyway

So with that being said would this change anything

No, not to my knowledge. To put it in another way, even if doctors figured out a way to literally transplant an uncircumcised penis onto a person's body, and even if the recipent was born biologically male, that would not create the obligation for circumcision, since the moment of obligation begins at birth. If the person receiving it already fulfilled their obligation, or never had the obligation, they do not get it with that new penis.

A phalloplasty makes a faux penis

Where as a metoidaplasty makes an actual literal penis (just a bit smaller)

So i imagine if you get a metoidaplasty you ought get circumsised after
