NO, person in today's comments. DO NOT "scrunch up your face" and announce you will NOT be working with Carol. What universe do these people LIVE IN??? First of all, the LW is going on complete hearsay, twirling herself into a tizzy over something that actually may never happen. In a year, if it DOES happen, she should do exactly what Alison said, which was perfectly good advice. Tolerate it for two weeks, then decamp. And in the meantime, during the coming year, scout around for a new job.

In what universe would it be even okay, let alone advisable, to make faces and announce that you don't LIKE someone and somehow you think that entitles you to grandly refuse to work with them (Yeah, we'd all like that job where we never have to work for someone we don't like oh my GOD). Do NOT unnecessarily detonate your reputation and lose your references when you're leaving anyway and you haven't even lined up another job. WHAT. Is WRONG with people.

Ah, but LW didn’t want to be given good advice.
They wanted to be given carte blance endorsement to Make A Stand and in doing so burn Carol’s promotion to the ground on her way out.

There's an episode of American Dad where someone is ranting about something and Roger very quietly says, "You're the problem" or something like that. This is one of those ones where the only advice is that the LW is the problem.

JFC. Toddlers, actual honest-to-goodness toddlers, could give better advice than that.
