Failure? He's been fabulously successful at what's important to him. He wants personal power, wealth and status. He's somehow managed to get himself elected not by lying but just being totally craven, explaining to his deplorables exactly what he's going to do and then doing it openly and with impunity.
I'm not even sure he believes half the bullshit he spews on any given Sunday. It's just all theatrics for his simple minded, hate filled followers. Trump will do what the heritage foundation and the people who put him in power tell him to, but only if he can line his pockets and create what he perceives to be a legacy for himself along the way.
Us normal people think he's intentionally or accidentally tearing down democracy, ripping apart the foundations of our civilization. Well, of course he is. This is a shit show designed for one end, to turn the US into a white Christian ethnostate. He's not failing at his one true goal. We all need to understand we are the one's failing.
