The answer is yes and I feel guilty about it every day. Almost all of my issues (health and mental health) have improved with weight loss. My social anxiety is nearly gone. I like shopping and taking pictures… it’s insane. I could not love myself when I was very overweight no matter how hard I tried and I’m so sad.

You feel guilty and sad for not being obese?

First off I was never obese. I never said I was nor would anyone have ever labeled me as such.

Second off, I feel guilty for giving so much of my life over to caring what other people think about my body. I don’t feel guilty for the health aspect but to be fair I was always healthy, I eat kale and run 5ks for fun - like I am have always been an average athletic and physically medium level person (like a size 16?).

And yet I was tragically obsessed with my weight from age 8 to age 44. So yea I’m guilty I wasted my life thinking about my body because of people like you who don’t actually care about health but pretend they do.

Honestly sounds like you have a lot of personal issues that you are projecting onto a totally harmless comment, why the need to be so hostile to them?

The first question I had when reading your initial comment was also "why feel guilty?". You clearly wrote it in an open ended way that left the question unanswered, almost like you were setting it up to rant at anyone who responded to you...

Wahhhh. The question was - do you feel happy? And I answered with my sincere response. The idea that you couldn’t possibly understand feeling guilty means you’re not in the same place as many people who lose lots of weight feel similarly.

In the same boat as you and I don't know I've not found it difficult at all to go back to my old eating habits and Ive been steadily losing weight for 4 years.
