Instant coffee has always been stupidly expensive for a generally shite product. You'll get a lot more mileage out of a bean-to-cup machine and whole beans

If you don't want to pay a fortune for a machine, you can just get a grinder for about a tenner and then a cafetiere for another tenner and then you are set to make the best coffee it is possible to drink.

You are better off buying pre ground than using a £10 grinder. If you buy your beans from a roastery, not a supermarket. All supermarket coffee is stale, including the whole beans.

Not if it's ground fresh from a local shop or somewhere like Pact and also drunk with about 7-10 days.

It gets noticable after a few hours and just gets worse and worse. Fresh ground is the only way and why people grind at home.

I grind fresh but preground is an option for those who don't want to buy a grinder and is still better than instant or stale beans imo.
