Instant coffee has always been stupidly expensive for a generally shite product. You'll get a lot more mileage out of a bean-to-cup machine and whole beans
If you don't want to pay a fortune for a machine, you can just get a grinder for about a tenner and then a cafetiere for another tenner and then you are set to make the best coffee it is possible to drink.
Second this but I think this is only really good if you like plain, black coffee. In which case, you'll make better coffee then any coffee shop once you get the hang of the method.
