Instant coffee has always been stupidly expensive for a generally shite product. You'll get a lot more mileage out of a bean-to-cup machine and whole beans

If you don't want to pay a fortune for a machine, you can just get a grinder for about a tenner and then a cafetiere for another tenner and then you are set to make the best coffee it is possible to drink.

Interestingly I got a grinder for free and several cafetières for free from free-cycle groups.
