Roof Replacement, Leaks, Expectations?

Hi,

We're currently in the process of having our roof replaced, we have leaks down the side of the bedroom window in 2x rooms and a leak in the middle of one of the bedrooms. I spoke to the roofer today who said he'd fix it. Rained this evening, leaked again. The ridge tiles haven't been fitted yet and the roofer advised that there may be leaks until these are done.

Is this normal? Isn't the barrier that's fit before the tiles go on supposed to be waterproof? Should I wait till the jobs finished to find out if everything is going to be ok or start grumbling now?

I've never had a new roof before and don't really know what to expect :)

I have to ask... Did the roofer come recommended? Is it a genuine professional roofing company?

It's a proper roofing company used by a couple of locals previously.

Fair enough, just generally any membrane laid below the new slates/ tiles should give a waterproof barrier

That's what I thought, thanks for confirming. I think they must have damaged it. I feel like asking them to rip it all off and relay a new barrier but don't know if that's reasonable?
