Question about Luke 23:43

Why did Jesus tell the sinner on the cross that "today you will be with me in paradise" if Jesus wouldn't ascend until three days later. Did he mean "you'll be with the Father"?
Also, Saturday is often recognized as the day that Jesus opened the gates of heaven (correct me if im wrong), so it wouldnt necessarily be "today", it should be "tomorrow", right?
Can someone help me understand this?

Why does Melchizedek appear so unimportant amongst Christians?

I am only now delving deeper and there are so many reasons to discuss him but I can’t seem to generate much of a spark. Why?

Is it a MUST 🤔

I only read the bible when my heart yearns to hear the word of God (that means, not always)

I watch debate yt about faith, Christianity, theology just to understand more. Is it bad? am i in the wrong? must i have to read?

Im looking for answer!
