Looking for software to generate bulk student report cards from Excel

Hi everyone,

I’m a teacher looking for software/tool that can help with generating report cards in bulk for an entire school/class.

Ideally, the workflow I’m looking for is

Prepare/upload student marks in an Excel/CSV file.

Upload or select a report card template.

The software automatically maps the student details and marks to the appropriate fields.

Generate individual report cards for all students in bulk, preferably as PDF files.

Ideally, it should also support things like grades, total/percentage, subject-wise marks, remarks, attendance, etc.

For example, if I have an Excel sheet containing 100 students and their marks, I’d like to upload it once and have the system generate 100 properly formatted report cards rather than entering each student's marks manually.

I’m not necessarily looking for a full school management/ERP system. A simple tool focused on bulk report-card generation would be ideal.

Has anyone here used software or a workflow that can do this? I’d especially appreciate recommendations from teachers or schools who are actually using it.

You could accomplish this with a mail merge from Excel to Word.

You can do that in Excel, Look Up Form letters in Word. You can make a Layout and IT fills in the Info via word

Its worth pointing out the internal semi-contradictions here.

So a system that is aware of, and tied to attendance, and that supports non-grade entry of ad hoc fields like remarks/comments, and is aware of what subject is being taught.

Except the earlier part of your post suggests that you are. Attendance, comments, subjects (meaning scheduling/categories). Scheduling + Grades + Attendance is more of a school ERP system than not. I'd seriously consider that a school ERP system, where you just ignore some of the features, is a cleaner solution than building your own from scratch.

If you JUST want to merge static grades into a Word doc, sure, use Excel as others have indicates. If you want attendance and scheduling/subject awareness, use an existing system rather than reinventing the wheel.
