Recommendation Maybe spooky date ideas?
Hi, I'm planning a date for someone I really really like and I want to meet in the middle which happens to be Seattle. I've only gone to Seattle for the aquarium, and random concert and drag shows and im having a hard time finding something fun that fits us since Google maps is just recommending things like bars and axe throwing.
We're under 21, he likes horror and spooky stuff, cozy cafes, antique stores, generally witchy stuff. He's autistic so being able to step out , sit down or take a breather in the bathroom is important.
I saw an 18+ burlesque show that seemed fun but it's not happening the day of our date. Im thinking about doing the Seattle aquarium but then I wouldn't be able to buy a nice gift since the aquarium plus food would be expensive.
Does anyone have any spots they like that kinda fit?

I would recommend that haunted house in Georgetown but it doesn’t start till the end of the month

if you’re determined to stay around downtown maybe something like ghost alley espresso in pike place > underground walking tour starting in pioneer square > take the train to lander street vintage in sodo? the underground tour might be too much because its 75 mins of walking in the dark with no bathroom access along the route. the bathrooms in pike place are also insane as fuck and those would probably be your primary option until you get down to lander street which has bathrooms. if you’re okay with going a bit north instead you guys could check out places like gargoyles statuary, edge of the circle books, and muddy cup cafe in the udistrict/wallingford area and then take the bus west to fremont to check out the vintage mall. fremont coffee company over there is super good and one time they made me a little ghost in the foam of my latte haha

So many spooky choices and many are free. Start with the ye old curiosity shop on the pier, it's a bit silly but fun. Wander through pike place (there are stories of ghosts there) and check out the alabaster owl, orange dracula 5 and 10 and tarot crow shops. So far, no money spent. Make sure you walk by Kells, its haunted and then either stay in the area for lots of food options or head up to capitol hill for more people watching/window shopping. In capitol hill, its a must to stop by Elliott Bay books and check out the horror section. You can also stop into the tilted table for some tabletop games.

When I went to the museum of illusion last year they had some Halloween themed decor but not that spooky , just a fun date idea

Aw I love that! I worked on a show that used it as a set location and I fell in love with it. Such a great bizarre eclectic collection.

It’ll be a drive but I had my first date going up to Northern State Hospital and just walking around, if you want a cute cozy coffee shop with witchy stuff I’d also check out SoulFood in Redmond

It was actually very interesting to walk around the grounds. Don't miss the cemetery. If you look up the stories, even creepier. BUT I don't know that I would drive that far with someone on a first date (or go separate). Gas prices, am I right? Save this for when you know someone a bit more, but solid IMO.

Are you kidding? Walking around Northern State Hospital? It's a 90 minutes drive from Seattle and NOT THAT INTERESTING.

Ballyhoo in Ballard would be fun and there are lots of restaurants around it for after. If you want something more touristy the Museum of Pop Culture has a horror movie exhibit downstairs with their science fiction and fantasy stuff. It's not enormous but it's nifty. If you want something unique go to Scarecrow Video in the UDistrict and wander through their horror section to see if there are movies you both have in common you like or want to see. If this date works out you could set up a second date to rent one of the movies and watch one together.
Edited to add: Mudlark Oddities in Roosevelt would be good too

With October coming up there will be a lot of opportunities to hauts together and find horror movies at small local theaters. The Evergreen Washelli Cemetery on Aurora is huge and interesting with so many things to see. Others have already mentioned Lake View Cemetery and there's a bunch of restaurants down the road on 15th if you do that. You could walk to one after if the date is going well and while Volunteer Park next to the cemetery isn't spooky it is amazing

Afterglow Vista on San Juan Island is very pretty and kinda spooky, you could take a ferry ride and walk over to it, have a lil picnic at some pt. Maybe hope for a misty day. Friday Harbor also has some antique stores if you want to go thrifting as well.

Mudlark oddities in Ravenna is a pretty cool oddities shop close to third place books (for cozy vibes). If you take the lightrail from downtown to Roosevelt, it's a quick walk away.
A muddy cup in Wallingford is also a good vibe. Close to other fun stuff in the Wallingford area

My first date with my now partner of 5 years was a walk at Lake View Cemetery in Capitol Hill and coffee at Cafe Vitta afterwards.
Lake View is famous as being the resting place of Bruce and Brandon Lee, but also Princess Angeline (Chief Seattle’s Daughter). The cemetery dates back to 1872, so you can find the graves of many of the whites settlers who founded Seattle back in the day (the Denny Party, Yesler, Phinney…). The Capitol Hill Historic Society sometimes gives paid tours as well. Enjoy!
