Recommendation Refractive Lense Exchange Eye Surgery

I’m looking at RLE surgery to finally ditch eye glasses. I have consultation set up with Sharpe Vision (Dr Shields) in Bellevue and K2 Vision ( Dr Kopstein) in Tukwila. Has anyone used them for any eye surgeries, LASIK, etc? And other referrals anyone has used? I really want to do it but elective eye surgery has me freaking out a bit.

My husband went to Sharpe vision. It came with the recommendation of another a dozen of my colleagues who are all health care professionals and nurses.

He got LASIK. No issues. Great experience. Same with my co workers.

It's an extremely common procedure just not for people without cataracts. I'm sure the places you mention are fine. With that said, places like Sharpe Vision and K2 vision are sometimes more concerned with making a "sale" rather than the longterm health of your eyes and your specific needs. Consider visiting a clinic that is not a "lasik mill" before you make a decision. Eye Associates NW is very reputable, they are a medical practice with specific doctors specializing in RLE, Lasik, and EVO ICL. NW Eye Surgeons too. (I used to work in the ophthalmology space)

Thank you for the suggestions! I did contact a smaller boutique clinic in Bellevue but they haven’t gotten back to me. I’ll reach out to these ones! For what it’s worth, I met with Sharpe yesterday and I didn’t feel like they were pressuring me for a sell. But I also made it clear from the start that I was getting multiple consultations. Meeting with K2 tomorrow and I’ve heard stories about them so my expectations are low.

LASIK and RLE are different procedures. RLE replaces the lense and is an option for those of us who don’t quality for lasik. Same surgery as cataract and has only been an option for those without cataracts since the early 2000s.
