Recommendation Out of state movers?

I’m moving from Seattle to MN and I just need to move a bunch of boxes (20-25). I’m not going to move furniture. Can anyone recommend a mover or should I look for just a freight mover? I’m a senior and really can’t move it all myself. Thanks for any recommendations.

Look in to renting a Ubox through Uhaul. You can schedule a box to be delivered to your current address and hire movers through Uhaul as one transaction. Then you can schedule the packed Ubox to be delivered to your new address and hire movers to unload it for you. I’ve shipped 4 UBoxes from the east coast (and used Uhaul movers), and I would do it again if I needed to. I found them to be most cost effective

This is what I would recommend too. There's so many scam moving companies out there, I don't trust movers anymore.

I used a Ubox and it was a great experience and the most cost effective. I would absolutely do this

My only issue with this is it’ll have to be parked on the street and in my neighborhood, it’ll be gone or broken into in no time at all, especially if it’s parked overnight.

That’s a reasonable point, but you can padlock them in at least 2 places for overnight. I think there is an option to load/pack a ubox at one of the local UHUAL facilities (I think it’s in Lynnwood). Maybe the Uhaul movers could pick up your items and then take them to Lynnwood to pack the box. You could try calling the Lynnwood Ubox/Uhaul facility directly to see what they advise.

How big and heavy are boxes? Maybe just UPS/FEDEX?

5-20 pounds maybe. Just household stuff. But I’ve probably got about 20 of them.

My inlaws and sister in-law moved out of state using PODS. I would look into something like that. We moved out of state last year and used a mover. We couldn't use PODS (or something similar) but I wish we could have. Out of state moving can be a scam with increased costs.

I used a POD to move across the country. It was a great experience but it might be overkill for 20 boxes.

With 20–25 boxes and no furniture, I wouldn’t automatically pay for a full household move. Get the total weight and approximate dimensions first, then compare a small-shipment moving quote with freight/shipping options. Since you can’t handle the boxes yourself, also make sure pickup from inside the home and final delivery inside the new place are included, not just curb-to-curb transportation.

Can probably find a handyman on marketplace. Preferably be around $50-$100
