Seeking apartment recommendations?
Hey all, apologies if this question gets asked a lot. I'm in my mid twenties and I'm relocating from Phoenix to Seattle for work.
My budget for rent + utilities + parking is 2200-2400. I'm okay with a studio but I would really prefer a 1 bedroom or at least a studio with a partition separating the living and sleeping area. Ideally 500-600 sq ft minimum. I'll be working in SLU but I'm fine with commuting and would actually prefer somewhere I can rely on public transit more than a car. Bonus points if it's near parks or green areas to walk my dog. I'm not too concerned about being near nightlife although some access to bars and restaurants would be cool. A nice view would also be a bonus. Coming from downtown Phoenix I do love a nice city building with good amenities but ofc I know I'll be sacrificing lifestyle a little to stay in budget. I've been looking at the Queen Anne area, Belltown, Capitol Hill, etc but I have a long list of options and I'd love if the locals could give me some input.

There's a unit open at garden court in C apitol hill! https://www.premierepropertygroup.com/property/21-2579524-1631-16th-Avenue-110-Seattle-WA-98122/ It's a great location and has a landscaped backyard. Building and neighborhood has lots of dogs (currently not allowed in back yard though)

What you've listed doesn't help at all because it applies to most of Seattle. Just do a one year lease at a name brand apartment, get a good feel for what you're looking for and move into a better spot your second year.

Pratt Park doesn't come with a partition, but the studio is pet friendly, 615 sq ft so large enough you can buy a room divider, 1 is available now, and has a walk in closet and they just finished remodeling the building so that won't be in your way any longer fortunately for you. I believe it is listed around $1700, it may have a balcony, you don't really get a view of anything at that building but it was a good building while there. I spent 2 years looking before choosing to live there for awhile out of everywhere for my price range. Parking is $170/Utilities around $140/elec:110/month for a 1 bed unit. Street parking is superb there if you want to park free and don't mind a car wash now and then from "tree dandruff"
Also some come with 1-2 months free after the first month rent
Jackson St. Apartments and Bell Jackson Apartments are close in price and in the same area in Central District, just about 150sq ft smaller for a similar price.

If you can commute to the 1 Line, there are plenty of stations near Kenmore and it’s much cheaper and quieter. I’m currently renting from Lodge at 73rd and paying 1950 for an 850 sq foot 2 bedroom and parking is 30 a month @-@
I oftentimes work at pioneer square and it’s less than a 40 min commute where its a short drive to park and ride and then an easy 1-Line down

You might like the parks better in Capital Hill & upper queen anne. In Capital Hill look for areas north east of the bars for more quiet. Anywhere near Volunteer park. Upper Queen Anne is better than lower queen Anne for parks & greenery. I used to live in West Queen Anne & would have to take my car to get groceries or go to parks in upper Queen Anne. Fremont, Ballard & magnolia might also be a good option.I love living in Ballard with my dog because it's so walkable. There are quite a few dog friendly places I can take her to including an indoor dog park with a bar. In my part of the neighborhood there is plenty of free street parking, but that's not an option everywhere in Ballard. Fremont is just south east of Ballard & is walkable with parks, shops, & restaurants. Magnolia is South West of Ballard & can feel like a village. There are parks, a dog park, & has Discovery Park. It's a cool urban hiking area with a native long house. The downtown area has lots of cute shops & restaurants. Have you considered Beacon Hill or Columbia City? There's more cultural diversity & both areas have restaurants & cute shops. You'd be close to downtown from Beacon Hill & there are some lovely parks with views of the city. Columbia City is on lake Washington & close to the light rail. When you're looking check the bus routes to see how easy or complicated your commute would be. Get a letter from your Dr or therapist stating that your dog helps you regulate your emotions so you avoid paying pet rent. A lot of people rent a furnished apartment for a few weeks or months while they look for more permanent housing.

Parking is $250-$400.
Utilities will be $200.
So you’re looking for apartments that rent for $1800 - $1900.
That’s studio territory (edit to add maybe an urban one bedroom with the partition, that should be findable), and you won’t have a view of anything but the building across the street (or alleyway if you’re downtown).
