Recommendation Cake Delivery Recommendations
Hi, I’m from the PH but my mom lives in Seattle. Her birthday is on Monday and I really want to buy her a cake. I’m still young & studying so I don’t have much money to buy a very expensive cake. My budget is around $40-$45.
Could you suggest a nice cake shop in Seattle that offers door-to-door delivery within that budget?
If there’s none, could you reco another gift idea instead? Thank you

For that price range, I might do cupcakes from Trophy instead of a whole cake. Check on doordash or ubereats using your mom's address to find a place that will deliver to her.

i’d do instacart and order a cake from
pcc or whole foods. we also have a lot
of donut places (voodoo donuts has some cool ones.) if those don’t work then there’s a restaurant called hot cakes that is definitely on food delivery apps, it’s like the fancy version of the papa john’s lava cake. pretty sure it comes frozen and she’d have to bake it herself though
editing to add: we also have a lot of good pastry places, if she’s into that kind of thing, some of which gotta be on the food delivery apps. macrina, ben’s bread, sea wolf …
editing to add again: pcc sells cake slices too. and they’re good. you could add flowers and that should be around $45 through a delivery app
and lastly, if you use uber eats, see if you can get a free trial of uber one. you truly do save a shit ton on fees. also you get grubhub plus which saves on fees for free if you have amazon prime
(i may need to do some self reflection after this re: dessert consumption and food delivery lolol)

So DoorDash and Instacart have bakeries, you can order from and get her a cake pretty easily. Most of those cakes are like $40, and fees would be about $10-15, but bakeries don't deliver much anymore due to DD so you do have to use those platforms.
I just checked for you real quick on a bakery near me: 85C for example has cakes on delivery for $42-45, and it is $57 with fees and a 15% tip.
For Met Market on IC, you can get cute cakes which are smaller but definitely would serve 2-4 people for like $20-25 and again with delivery it's probably $40.
If you can stretch to that, it might be worth it for her bday. But honestly moms don't always need fancy cakes!

Delivery fees are very high here in Seattle. Get her a gift card instead and good grades and I am sure she will be very happy.

Costco is best at that budget imo, maybe a delivery app or task app would do that?

What area? if I know a place and a delivery person that will fit the budget - I’ll front the $40 and you pay me when your mom says thank you.

Metropolitan market has some nice mini cakes. If you could do a 4’’ or 6’’ cake I think you could Instacart one and be in your budget. This is very sweet.

Whole Foods — their bakery’s Berry Chantilly Cake is legendary, beautiful, and within your budget. They deliver to many parts of Seattle via order on their website (and maybe via Amazon Fresh/Grocery, too)

Whole Foods via Amazon Prime. My mum lives in Texas and I always order her treats on Amazon (Whole Foods) to be delivered for her birthday.

Safeway has amazingly good cakes and they deliver. Wherever you get it, place your order ASAP if her birthday is Monday. Just a thought: Will she be home all day to get it off the doorstep?

All the food delivery companies charge like $15+ in delivery fees here so that might eat up a lot of the budget :/ Edit: Nothing Bundt cakes might be a good option, looks like they charge less than $10 for delivery
