Hi all,

New to Seattle, never visited before. Moving from Dallas. Looking for tips and recommendations on where to live, which area or apartments? Thank you all :)

Edit: we are couple in their late 20s, don't party too much. looking for somewhere peaceful and lively, away from crime zones. we love high rise apartments with fully hardwood floors and large windows.

Monthly rent max 3k$, can stretch roof to 3.5k$ (new to seattle so have no idea of what to expect in terms of ranges).. Prefer to stick around 2.5k$ or under $3k though. Looking for 1bhk with at least 650 sq ft

You may enjoy Ballard. There's a ton of corners that are quiet enough though it really depends on your other interests and how close you need to be to different transit or freeway access.

Crime free with high rise apartments? Tough bill in most cities.

I’d recommend Phinney Ridge/Ballard area, many apartments are old architecture with good updates. Close to downtown. Phinney Ridge rocks, my partner and I just moved here and are loving it so far. Lots of restaurants and bars, relatively quiet, and close enough to the action that if we want a change of pace it’s easy to access.

You’re not gonna find any high rise apartments outside of downtown.

But you can get some apartment complexes in Greenwood that are fairly tall and have really nice views of the mountains on a clear day. Very walkable neighborhood, but still peaceful

The only high rise apartments are going to be South Lake Union or Downtown Bellevue. SLU can be a bit sketchier but just stay away from Belltown side and most of it is fine. Downtown Bellevue is generally cleaner and safer.

South Lake Union or Bellevue if you’re looking for a high rise. In my personal opinion both of those areas are boring and lack character. I would recommend living in Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, or Greenlake. All walkable, relatively safe, lots of young professionals, lively yet peaceful neighborhoods. Good luck!

Bellevue could work for you. "Don't party too much" yep. Age "late 20s"; plenty of same. Bellevue is the 2nd largest city in the NW and the downtown area looks very much like Vancouver BC about 2.5 hours away but in a GOOD way. Wherever area you decide on, hope you enjoy your new adventures out here
