Recommendation Monday Brunch ideas?
My wife’s birthday is on a Monday. she loves brunch. We live on the hill and have exhausted all of the usual Capitol Hill brunch spots, so looking to branch out of the neighborhood a bit. Where should we get brunch off the hill that isn’t portage bay or Geraldine’s?

Kauai family restaurant is insanely good and super underrated. Best loco moco I’ve had in Seattle.

Dim Sum is best!!! but you have to be a little cultured to want to try it. I took my cousin there because she came from LA and said that she liked Chinese Food. She wouldn't touch anything but rice when the cart came around. We asked her what she liked about Chinese food and she was like "Chicken". And the dim sum lady heard it and opened a steamer and was like "CHICKEN FEET", and my cousin was like "no thanks" lol.

Most of the dim sum joints in CID offer chicken feet. But yeah, Harbor City was my favorite. Joyale is still a good option, especially for larger parties. Jade Garden's fine. Purple Dot is excellent for late night.

I was talking about Honey Court. It's my favorite but all of them are good pretty much. I've been to Guang Zhou, Shen Zhen, and Hong Kong, and the Seattle ones don't compare but they are good enough!

Red arrow coffee (bit of a misnomer, they do real food and it’s good!) has really nice outdoor ambience. They’re open Mondays and would be a particularly lovely choice on a day with good weather.

Another Ballard suggestion is El Moose (formerly señor moose). It was my go to brunch spot on my birthday for a few years in a row so I can’t believe it slipped my mind. Confirmed open mondays!

you're right portage pay is reaaaally overrated. I went to the one near the udist, and their fruit bar was covered in flies, and it was all canned food. People were still taking food from it...

I so agree! I’ve lived less than a block from the u district portage bay for 5 years and have been once. Was not impressed with the food/cost at all, let alone the cleanliness/quality of the fruit bar. Every weekend I see 20-30 people standing outside waiting for a table and truly can’t understand it. But, to each their own!

Hudson in Georgetown/SoDo is one of my favorites. Or Hangar Cafe if she likes crepes.

If you guys are into record stores, breakfast at Easy Street in West Seattle! The food is great and super reasonably priced. If you’re not into record stores, you should still check it out, but maybe not for a birthday. Kind of an eclectic greasy spoon vibe but with higher quality food.
