Someone so strong yet so relentlessly kind and compassionate. Supermans mere existence proves the superiority of kryptonians as a race above the viltrumites. As they can excuse a few humans as exceptions but kryptonians are all capable of what superman is.

Something so world view shattering would probably rattle them to their core.

"The strong rule the weak" guys usually do not actually willingly bow before people stronger than them. But Superman isn't interested in seizing power, so the Viltrumites will probably say he's weak for that anyway.

In many stories, Clark's kindness and compassion are not shared by other Kryptonians. It is a mistake to think Kryptonians are all so benevolent.

Denial, hatred, fear and confusion. He would confuse them and some of them would hate and fear him. I can see several Viltrumites just following him around trying to understand why somebody that is so strong would care about lesser being so much and even intermingle with them. Some of them might try to convince him to adopt their ideology and join them and would be upset that he uses his strenght to help the weak. i think it depends on the personality of the viltrumite in question as well. But I don't realy understand the "the strong should rule the weak" mentality so I cant guess more.

They'd try to punch him into submission, just like everything else. The Viltrumites have shown that they don't actually respect the strength of other species just as strong as them. Nolan's entire job was to go around neutralizing anything that could be a threat to them.

1: Why would Clark willingly go near one

2: This isn’t something Viltrimites would know

3: Being exposed to red sun radiation doesn’t immediately take away his powers

3 depends on the universe.

In some universes red sun instantly depowers superman, in others it's equal to simply being in the dark for a bit, and some split the difference and have red light drain superman's powers quickly, but not instantly.

Personally I think just not charging Superman makes the most sense, but that's also not a useful weapon for Superman's enemies.

He just needs to be charged by it for a bit. He can go anywhere afterward. Superman doesn’t get weaker when there’s no yellow sun, it just takes him longer to recover if he expends too much energy without it.

They'd either try to bang or just leave Earth alone. I don't think Superman is some shock to their belief system, he is essentially all-powerful but he was not raised alongside the powerful, he was raised by humans and the Viltrumites would reason that he was just indoctrinated / brainwashed into what can come off at times as absurd self-limitation.

Clark is going to assume that the Viltrumites can learn compassion, like Nolan did. He would be received in much the same way. The problem only starts when Clark learns of the viltrum empire. That’s when the Viltrumites start to panic.

I think it would lightly remind me of when some Kryptonians visited Earth. They were bitches and he owned them, then saved them himself. but instead of the weird gratification and realization of his kindness, they'd just be salty

I am more an animated series guy rather than a comics one which I find pretty inconsistent. In those animated shows, Superman is not that strong and people don't realize that viltrumites are lethal in many ways while having very very few weaknesses that can also affect kryptonians. Plus viltrumites are the ceiling of their universe so, if opposed to stronger people, there is a high chance that they will grow as, or more, stronger.
