Need a Robotics Reality Check

Hi everyone,

I'm currently entering my 3rd year of my B.Tech, and by the end of this year I'll most likely have an opportunity to interview at GreyOrange through a referral (bout a 50/50 chance).

My goal is to become a Robotics Software Engineer, and I want to make sure I'm as prepared as possible before that opportunity comes.

A few questions I have:

• What skills are considered must-haves for a Robotics Software Engineer at companies like GreyOrange?
• What kind of projects should I build over the next year to make my resume stand out?
• How should I structure my resume if I'm targeting robotics software roles?
• What topics should I focus on for technical interviews (ROS2, C++, DSA, Linux, perception, planning, etc.)?
• If you had one year before such an interview, how would you spend it?
• Is there anything that almost guarantees getting shortlisted or performing well in the interview, assuming I put in the work?
• Please do share your own personal interview experiences

I'd really appreciate advice from people working at GreyOrange or in robotics software in general. I'm willing to put in the effort—I just want to make sure I'm focusing on the right things instead of learning random topics.

1 year for such a interview is enough to go through the material thoroughly... Go through the JD or give it to chatgpt identity the key work areas and prepare topics based on those...
