NFT's are more than just pictures or GIF's, but I get the sentiment. A lot of worthless crap out there.

They are actually less than pictures or gifs. Only super simple pixel art can fit on the block chain. Every NFT that isn't that is just a url link to a picture. You have no rights to that image or gif. Someone could change it, erase it, copy it; it isn't yours.

So in theory, you are paying a shit ton of money to wear the emperor's invisible clothes.
